This weekend our Scouts camped, kayaked, hiked, and learned about native and medicinal plants while exploring the outdoors together. One Scout said it best: “This was a really organized and efficient campout.”

Troop 79 is more than camping. Scouts build confidence, leadership, independence, and lifelong friendships while trying new things and having fun.

If you know a youth ages 11–17 (or in 5th grade) who likes adventure, wants to learn new skills, or is looking for a great group of friends, come check us out. New Scouts are always welcome!

Proud of Troop 79 for another strong service project. The Troop spent the day mulching a local playground and making a real impact in the community.

We were especially proud to receive this feedback afterward:

“Joe was extremely pleased and impressed with the Scouts and their Leaders. Thank you again!”

Service, leadership, teamwork, and leaving things better than we found them. That’s what scouting is about.

Proud of the Scouts of Troop 79 for stepping up and making a difference during Trash the Trash Day here in Long Grove.

This weekend, the troop spent time cleaning up Checker Drive, helping keep our community beautiful, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Service, leadership, and taking pride in where we live—this is Scouting in action.

Thank you to all the Scouts, leaders, and volunteers who gave their time and energy. Small actions, done consistently, build stronger communities.

Long Grove/Buffalo Grove - LCDOT will close the westbound lanes on Checker Road at Arlington Heights Road starting on April 11. A detour will be in effect for 6-8 weeks.

The closure is needed to construct the road and storm sewers as part of the Arlington Heights Road Reconstruction Project.
