💗 Is it time for your mammogram?

For women at average risk, the American Cancer Society recommends:

• Ages 40–44: You may choose annual mammograms.
• Ages 45–54: Get a mammogram every year.

ACS does not recommend clinical breast exams as routine screening for average-risk women at any age.

The Central Jersey Club of NANBPWC, Inc. encourages you to review your screening schedule with your healthcare provider.

💗 Your risk can change your screening plan.

ACS recommends annual breast MRI AND mammograms for women at high risk, typically starting at age 30.

High-risk factors include an estimated lifetime risk around 20–25% or higher, a BRCA1/BRCA2 gene change, an untested status with a first-degree relative carrying a BRCA change, or chest radiation before age 30.

MRI supplements mammograms; it does not replace them.

Last week in Washington, DC was one for the books.

From celebrating Season One of The Yellow Couch Stories, to BPW Connection Night, to showing up in yellow at the Black Women’s Agenda, to closing it out with our National Board Meeting — the camaraderie, networking, laughter and sisterhood were everything.

There is something special about being in the room with women who understand the assignment.

We connected. We celebrated. We handled business. And we were reminded that NANBPWC, Inc. is only getting started.

Our history got us here.
Our moment is now.
And this is our time to shine.

To everyone who joined us in DC — thank you for making the week so special.
