Did you know that 2026 marks 100 years since the City of Long Beach approved funding to construct and equip a waterworks and fire protection system?

In February 1926, a $75,000 bond issue was approved, and the building pictured here served as the Long Beach Fire Station from 1926–1980.

A century later, the Long Beach Fire Department is proud to continue the tradition of serving and protecting our community.

Due to the incoming weather, the Tide & Tackle: A Long Beach Coastal Archive exhibit has been postponed.

The City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Historical Society are still excited to bring this special exhibit to our community, but the safety of our residents, volunteers, and visitors comes first. A new date will be announced at a later time.

In the meantime, we're still collecting your photos! We'd love to feature your memories of life along our beautiful coast.

We’re honored to share that Long Beach Main Street has been recognized for the successful revival of the Long Beach Radish Festival by the Mississippi Heritage Trust!

Known as the former "Radish Capital of the World," Long Beach has a rich agricultural history, and bringing back this beloved festival has been a meaningful way to celebrate our community’s roots while creating new memories for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Radish Festival and helped make it a success. We are proud to continue celebrating Long Beach’s history, heritage, and community spirit for years to come! ❤️
