Community Day at Lueders Park was a success — thank you to everyone who made it happen!

This week at SCJCA, we’re showing up for our young people on and off the field.

Meet Coach Rodney, our Technical Cricket Coach. He leads our technical sessions, helping players build their batting technique, bowling skills, catching and fielding, and game IQ, along with sportsmanship and a love for the game.

Join us at Luders Park on Tuesdays and Kelly Park on Wednesdays, 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Our Education pillar is also in motion. The Financial Literacy Workshop, presented in partnership with the City of Compton Parks & Recreation Department and facilitated by Empower 4 Generations, kicks off Saturday, October 10 at Lueders Park. Middle and high school students will learn budgeting, saving, smart spending, and financial goals. It’s free, and students who complete the program with zero absences earn a $100 stipend.
Sessions run bi-weekly on Saturdays, 9:00 to 11:30 A.M.

Southern California Junior Cricket Academy is expanding to a new park, and we’re kicking it off with Community Cricket Registration Day at Lueders Park this Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

We’re proud to welcome the San Francisco Unicorns as our official presenting sponsor. As a pioneering professional T20 cricket team and a proud member of Major League Cricket, the Unicorns are helping us show young players in our community what’s possible in this game.

🏏💙 YOUTH LEADERSHIP IN ACTION!

Today we’re giving a special shoutout to Johnathon Tatum, our SCJCA Youth Captain, for the leadership, mentorship, and positive example he continues to provide for his peers.

Johnathon has done a phenomenal job showing our younger players that cricket is about more than what happens on the field—it’s about discipline, teamwork, confidence, and lifting up the people around you.

And leadership runs in the family! His brother, JT Tatum, is a proud graduate of the Southern California Junior Cricket Academy who has taken his talents beyond our program as a community coach. 🌎🏏

Watching these young men grow, lead, mentor, and represent what SCJCA stands for is exactly why we do this work.
