Today, Long Beach Lodge No. 327 pauses to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures who have shaped our lives with their wisdom, sacrifice, and unwavering love.

Freemasonry teaches us that the greatest legacies are not built of stone, but of character. Many of us first learned the values of integrity, hard work, compassion, and service from the men who raised us, guided us, and stood beside us throughout life's journey.

This special collection of photographs is a tribute to the generations of men who came before us and the generations we are now privileged to help raise. Within these images, you will see more than fathers and childrenβ€”you will see the living embodiment of Brotherly Love, family, and legacy.

As Masons, we understand that fatherhood extends beyond blood. We strive to be examples, mentors, protectors, and builders of a better future for those who will one day follow in our footsteps.

To all the fathers in our Lodge and throughout our Masonic family: thank you for your quiet strength, your guidance, and the countless sacrifices that often go unseen. Your influence reaches farther than you may ever know.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Long Beach Lodge No. 327 F.&A.M.

And a special thank you to our Worshipful Master's son, Chase Miller (), for providing the beautiful music accompanying this tribute. We are incredibly proud of the talented man you have become, and grateful to share your gift with our Masonic family.

🎳 Brotherhood beyond the walls of the lodge.

After a long week, our annual Long Beach Lodge bowling night was exactly the kind of reprieve we all needed. An evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and the simple joy of spending time together.

Freemasonry teaches us that Brotherhood is more than a title. It is showing up for one another, celebrating life's victories, carrying one another through difficult seasons, and being reminded that we never walk alone.

These people are not just our friends, they are our family.

As the night came to a close, we gathered in prayer for one of our Brothers who is once again preparing for surgery this week. In moments like these, we are reminded that the bonds we share extend far beyond the walls of our lodge. They are built through love, support, and an unwavering commitment to one another.

This is what it means to be part of a Masonic family. We laugh together, we pray together, and when one Brother needs strength, we pray for him and stand beside him.

Brotherly Love is a principle we teach and live.

In Memoriam: Brother Lewis β€œLew” Main Jr.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn our beloved Brother Lew Main, a man whose life reflected extraordinary talent, courage, discipline, and service.

Brother Lew was a proud U.S. Army veteran, a respected Mason, an accomplished violinist, and a martial artist who continued training despite living as a quadriplegic. He refused to allow physical limitations to define his life.

Lew performed with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra and played violin in the orchestra for the 1957 film The Enemy Below. His contribution to music extended far beyond the concert stage.

At Main’s Violin Shop in Long Beach, Lew learned violin making from his father, working at a bench directly across from him. They served professional musicians, symphony performers, soloists, recording studios, and serious students throughout Southern California.

Lew crafted Stradivarius- and Guarneri-model violins, Stradivarius- and Amati-inspired violas, and three Stradivarius-model cellos. His favorite was the 1741 Guarneri del GesΓΉ model, often finished in the golden red-orange varnish he admired.

One of Lew’s violins was made for renowned violinist Camilla Wicks. After hearing her perform, critics believed she was playing a historic Stradivarius. She proudly revealed that the instrument had been made for her by Lewis Main Jr.

His experience as a professional violinist gave him a rare understanding of tone and playability, and his craftsmanship and expertise became widely respected throughout the music industry.

β€œOur brother has reached the end of his earthly toils. The brittle thread which bound him to earth has been severed and the liberated spirit has winged its flight to the unknown world. The silver cord is loosed; the golden bowl is broken; the pitcher is broken at the fountain; and the wheel is broken at the cistern. The dust has returned to the earth as it was, and the spirit has returned to God who gave it.”

May Brother Lew’s memory remain a blessing, and may his music, craftsmanship, service, and indomitable spirit continue to echo through all whose lives he touched.

Dear Brothers,

Please join us in keeping our Brother Nader Habash and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Brother Nader is preparing for open-heart surgery on June 16th. We ask the Great Architect of the Universe to watch over him, guide the hands of his surgeons and medical team, grant strength and comfort to his loved ones, and bless him with a successful surgery and swift recovery.

In times of trial, we are reminded that the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth extend far beyond the walls of our lodge. We stand with Brother Nader and his family, not only in prayer, but in our willingness to offer comfort, encouragement, and support wherever it may be needed.

We are honored to share this wonderful family photograph that his wife, Muna, kindly sent to us. It beautifully reflects the love, happiness, and strong family bonds that surround Brother Nader, and serves as a touching reminder of the many blessings in his life.

We have also included a beautiful melody with this post. As you listen, we invite you to pause for a moment, offer a prayer, and keep Brother Nader and his family close in your heart.
