Looking for an empowering opportunity for a teen in the Long Beach area? The DeForest Park Teen Summit is coming up and will bring together young people ages 14-18 for a day of learning, connection, creativity, and leadership! 🌟

🤖 Focus Topic: AI & Your Future
Teens will explore how artificial intelligence is shaping our world and how they can prepare to be part of the future.

We are in a very challenging time for most Americans. The cost of living has gone through the roof while tons of people are losing jobs to automation and AI. Those that have their jobs still are likely getting paid a small percentage higher than the people in their role 30 years ago - not even remotely matching inflation. People are having to choose between eating and seeing a doctor and getting their necessary dosage of medication. Or they did see a doctor and are now drowning in medical bills.

It is not only important, but ESSENTIAL that we care for those struggling. Because things are HARD right now. Because the standard of living for those in poverty shouldn't be starving outside in one of the most powerful nations on the planet. Because we're a community. Because we're all living beings.

Don't let these tough times harden you. Let it push you to be a more impactful servant for your community. Get involved!

This Saturday, August 29, 2026, Turning the Tide: Navigating Local Programs & Services brings the community together at MacArthur Park (1321 E Anaheim St.) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a Community Resource Fair in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day.

Connect with local service providers and access free HIV/STI testing, complimentary food, overdose response demonstrations, a memorial wall, giveaways, and other community resources.

Whether you’re looking for support, resources, or simply want to learn more about services available in our community, this event is an opportunity to connect and turn awareness into action.
