61 Cats were spay/neutered in October in Long Beach because of your donations!

😻 Remember fixing just one cat can prevent hundreds of unwanted cats over time — both by stopping their direct litters and breaking the exponential breeding cycle.

Thank you to our local trappers, volunteers and of course, Helen Sanders CatPAWS for your dedication and hard work!

TEAM WORK.

This , we’re also shining the spotlight outward. There are so many incredible organizations changing the lives of animals in need. Please consider supporting our community partners:

🗳 Friends of Long Beach Animals “is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the population of shelter animals in the Long Beach and Signal Hill area. We accomplish this through humane education in local schools and in the community, as well as by working closely with local rescue groups.”

🗳 The Little Lion Foundation “is an all-volunteer run non-profit dedicated to saving and improving the lives of cats through targeted programs, education and partnerships, with a focus on eliminating euthanasia of healthy, at risk and/or treatable cat and kittens in public shelters.”

🗳City of Long Beach Animal Care Services “The Long Beach Volunteer Enrichment Team provides activities that reduce stress, spark joy, and support the emotional well-being of every shelter dog. From stuffed KONGs to pool time to calming activities to special holiday meals, this group of volunteers work tirelessly to bring comfort and hope to canine residents while they wait for family.” Keep up with the volunteers . 💲Tax-deductible donations can be made to with a memo that it’s for the LBACS enrichment team.

🗳 Blockhead Brigade “We seek equity and justice for Pit Bulls and their people and are committed to working towards non-discriminatory housing, policies, and media coverage. We strive to achieve these goals through collaboration and dialogue, outreach, sharing resources, and community building. Our work is rooted in advocacy for dogs AND people. While our advocacy focuses on Pit Bull-type dogs, we do not discriminate in our programs and welcome all breeds, mixes, and snout sizes to utilize our resources. Help us build a community of respect and empathy around the dogs we love by joining us.”

🐾 Standing together is how we make the biggest impact. If these missions speak to you, please consider giving, sharing, or amplifying their work today. Your support truly changes lives.

This is Gina’s story…

“Today at Junipero Beach in Long Beach, I saw a couple carrying a small puppy that looked like a chihuahua. Something felt off. Then, right in front of me, they set the puppy down in the sand, got in their car, and drove away.

When I went to check on her, I realized she was paralyzed from the waist down. Her back legs didn’t move at all—she was dragging herself through the sand. I picked her up and took her to my car. She was so sweet and immediately responded to the affection I gave her. She ate and drank on her own, which is good, but I haven’t seen her go to the bathroom yet, and I’m not sure she’s able to.

I’m reaching out for any help or guidance on where I can take her to be checked out. I don’t want to take her somewhere to be euthanized. I just want to do what I can for her.”

Sometimes there isn’t anything we or the veterinarians can do… but because of Gina’s kind heart, this sweet girl did not have to suffer!
