From 11:00 PM-MIDNIGHT, every individual donation to CityHeART counts as a separate chance for a $500 Long Beach Gives Finish Line Boost.

And the minimum gift on the Long Beach Gives platform is just $10.

INSIDE THESE 60 MINUTES: 1:30–2:30 PM. ❤️

This one is a MINI episode, but there was absolutely nothing mini about the hour.

So much happened between 1:30 and 2:30 today that we could barely fit it into the video. Groceries. Volunteers. Conversations. Connections. Resource support. Radio. People showing up for one another. The ordinary, slightly chaotic, deeply human work that happens here every single week.

And that is exactly what we mean when we ask you to protect a day.

We are not fundraising for an abstract idea of CityHeART. We are protecting actual hours like this one.

A protected day means the doors are open long enough for all of these little moments to happen.

INSIDE THESE 60 MINUTES: 12–1 PM ❤️

It was Long Beach Gives Day, but it was also Thursday at CityHeART — which meant the work kept moving.

Between 12 and 1 PM, grocery packages went out to our neighbors, volunteers kept the Hub moving, the radio show went live, and Izzy took a minute to shout out some of the people making all of it possible.

This is what we mean when we ask you to protect a day.

It is not one big, dramatic thing. It is sixty minutes filled with groceries, volunteers, voices, relationships, and people showing up for one another.

And today, 11 days of 2027 are already protected. ❤️

Vickie understood the assignment so thoroughly that she accidentally dressed like the Long Beach Gives campaign. 😂💙💚

We swear this was not coordinated.

After spending part of her summer volunteering at CityHeART alongside her son, Vickie got to see up close just how much happens here — and how much our team stretches every dollar entrusted to us.

For every $1 donated to CityHeART, we are able to unlock roughly $5 in total community value.

That means your gift does not just pay for one thing. It becomes food, space, volunteer power, partnerships, case navigation, connection, and hours when someone can walk through our doors and find people ready to help.

Apparently, it also becomes a perfectly coordinated Long Beach Gives outfit. 💅😂

It’s Long Beach Gives Day, and here is where we stand:

11 days protected in 2027.

That’s 11 operating days we can count on. Eleven days of the Resource Hub staying open for veterans, seniors, families, and neighbors navigating housing journeys. Eleven days of food, connection, creative expression, and resource navigation.

It’s a real start. It is not enough.

A lot of days are still left to protect. Every $100 protects one hour of CityHeART operations in 2027. $400 protects one full day. $2,000 protects one week.

That sentence says so much about why being right here matters.

When someone is already exhausted from navigating systems, they do not have to take another bus, make another phone call, wait on hold, or explain their story for the fourth time to another stranger. Someone they already trust can simply walk them over, and we can help.

Behind that sentence is what partnership is supposed to feel like: no one organization or staff member carrying a need alone.

A network is not a program on paper. It is the difference between saying, “I don’t know where to send you,” and saying, “I know exactly where to send you.”
