We are thrilled to announce that Lisa DeSmidt has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director of ArtsLB!

Lisa has been a pillar of the Arts Council for ten years, most recently serving as our Director of Programs. As a Long Beach artist and small business owner, she deeply understands the needs of our creative community and has already been instrumental in building the programs you know and love.

This transition is a moment of strength for us. While we celebrate Griselda Suárez’s historic appointment as the City’s first Cultural Affairs Officer, our mission remains steady. Our grants, exhibitions, and community projects are moving forward without a pause.

Please join us in welcoming Lisa into this new role as we continue to grow a creative economy that works for everyone in Long Beach! 🥂👏
