Sandy was a tough time. I honestly try not to think about it anymore. That's why I haven't posted on this page in literally years. But then you get a call from some awesome buddies who busted their asses gutting other people's homes in Long Beach. One of those guys now lives in the Houston area. It's a mess. I know what has to happen, I know what those people are going to have to go through and I know it's going to take years. No way around it. It's life changing, emotional, stressful, sad...

I am going to be asking for donations to send to Houston through my point man Ronnie. Ronnie texted me, "living right in the heart of Houston but super lucky, dry, have power, food. Just prepping for the clean up". I'm glad to hear he is safe. Now he is ready to help his neighbors.

I don't have the exact plan at this point because I just spoke to him this morning. More info to follow. Every bit counts so let's try and offer a little help to our friends in Texas.

Meet Milwaukee Mike. This guy is a great dude. After Sandy hit us, he drove from Wisconsin with a trailer full of donations to New York and ended up staying in Long Beach for 2 weeks. He didn't have a plan or a place to stay lined up. He found me and he started clearing out homes and working on them. I gave this stranger my apartment to stay in.

Only downside with this guy is he's a Packers fan. Anyway, check out his new mission. It's very cool. If you can give him a few bucks I think it's money well spent. This guy is selfless and he did so much work to help Long Beach. He did it just because he wanted to. He's a better man then me...

Good to see Long Beach mentioned in this article as one of Americas Cleanest beaches. It may or may not be true but we have come a long way since sandy!

Hey there! Hope you are all getting ready for SUMMER!

It is almost Memorial day weekend so a few of my friends and I have decided to run in the 10 Mile Long Beach race this Sunday. We have teamed up with one of the best charities out there, Hope for the Warriors. They support wounded veterans and do a great job. I know it's last minute but if anyone can go to the link below and donate a few bucks, my team, myself and veterans across the USA would deeply appreciate it.

Now let's hope I can run 10 miles.

That's team work! About 10 neighboring fire departments arrived quickly last night to help the LB department. Great job by all. Wishing a quick recovery to the injured fire fighter. I will see what's needed and what can be done to help the owner of the home.
