Some of you noticed that the Los Cerritos Park sign mysteriously disappeared back in May during our Memorial Day Taps Across America event.

We are happy to report that it has been replaced. A big thank you to Councilwoman Megan Kerr and our Long Beach Parks Department!

🚨 **URGENT: We're out here now and need more hands!** 🚨
The flag planting for America's 250th is officially underway, but we need a few more neighborhood heroes to help us finish crossing the finish line! Because our flag shipment arrived down to the wire, we have a lot of ground to cover this morning.
If you can spare an hour or two right now, please join us!
* **Where:** Swing by **3753 Pacific Ave** to grab a remaining route, or **DM us right now** so we can tell you where the team is currently planting!
* **What:** Walking the neighborhood to plant flags.
Let’s get these flags up and make our community look incredible for Flag Day tomorrow! ✨

I’m writing to invite you to join us for a brief but powerful tribute this Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026, at Los Cerritos Park. This year marks our first time hosting this gathering, and it is our hope that this will become a new annual tradition for our community to come together and reflect.
We will be participating in Taps Across America, a national movement where musicians and citizens gather at 3:00 PM local time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. This coincides with the National Moment of Remembrance, a minute of silence established by Congress to ensure the true meaning of the day remains at the heart of our commemorations. Event Schedule

2:50 PM: Gathering near NE corner of San Antonio/Country Club, by the Los Cerritos Park Sign
3:00 PM: National Moment of Silence
3:01 PM: The sounding of "Taps" performed by Frank Andrade, a talented student from Long Beach City College
3:10 PM: Refreshments and community social

Immediately following the ceremony, please stay for light refreshments. We’ll have water, lemonade, and snacks available as we take a moment to connect with our neighbors and honor our history together.
