Aquarium of the Pacific Wavemakers Toastmasters club

The Wavemakers is a member club of Toastmasters International. We meet from 12:30 to 1:30 every Tues The fear of public speaking can be debilitating!

The Wavemakers began June 22, 2010 as a corporate club for Aquarium of the Pacific staff members. The charter members found the club to be a surprising success as they improved their leadership abilities and public speaking skills. In January 2012, we opened our doors to become a community club. All members of the local community are welcome to visit our club and see if it's the right fit for his/

her goals. Membership is available to all who want to improve themselves and support the other club members' improvement as well. It's a challenging and sometimes frightening thing, trying to become a confident and polished public speaker. However, you're not going to find a more excited, fun, and supportive group - at least according to us. Come on by for a visit!

The thought of public speaking induces anxiety in many people.

The Aquarium of the Pacific Wavemakers Toastmasters club creates a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment in which to find calm and peace while practicing the intimidating skill of public speaking.

It’s also completely online via Zoom, so it’s easy to attend!

The theme of today’s Wavemakers Toastmasters meeting is Halloween Costumes.

Some (crazy) people think the modern Halloween tradition was invented by candy companies to pump kids full of sugar before cold and flu season to deplete their immune systems so they’ll get sick and spread their viruses around so that the drug companies who own the candy companies can sell lots of medicine and make massive profits.

Smart people know drug companies (and the candy companies they own) would NEVER intentionally make people sick for money and that Halloween is really all about carrying on the supposedly ancient pagan tradition of dressing up in costumes every October 31st to scare away evil spirits. Because if there’s one thing evil spirits are terrified of - it’s costumes! (like the costumes from the hit show Squid Games)

Some people might say the wheel. Others - the printing press. There might be some Donnie Darko fans who will tell you it’s soap.

But they’re all wrong.

The greatest invention was also the first invention. What did Adam and Eve cook up immediately after they ate from the tree of Knowledge?

That’s right, I’m talkin’ about chonies.

Underoos

Whatever you want to call it - underwear is the best invention EVER! Imagine life without this king of invention: Cold. Painful. Unsanitary. Indecent. Danger around every bend.
