TRMI provides state-of-the art facilities with computer simulation equipment so you get real-world training. Courses range from basic to advanced.
The new Sherman Street (San Diego) campus was built in 2017 and houses 14 classrooms, full bridge simulator, engine room simulator, high voltage simulator, ARPA/ECDIS simulator, DC trainer and lifeboat trainer. Student facilities include a lounge area with galley and vending machines. TRLMI’s McCain Street (San Diego) facility houses our welding, machining and firefighting training centers. Our classroom in Alameda, CA includes everything needed for the OUPV/100 Ton Master courses, Radar courses & simulation, Able Seaman, and a portable bridge simulator.

In 2018, Training Resources acquired Maritime Institute and merged the organizations together. Today, Training Resources Limited Maritime Institute (“TRLMI”) offers over 80 U.S. Coast Guard approved courses in San Diego and Alameda and continues to provide exportable training throughout California and select East Coast locations. Our customers include Government organizations such as the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command and NOAA; Civilian ship operators such as Maersk Shipping, Disney Cruise Lines, and Foss Maritime; Merchant Mariner Unions such as Sailor’s Union of the Pacific (SUP) and Marine Fireman’s Union (MFOW), and thousands of independent mariners each year. The company provides training to over 4000 mariners annually, in topics that cover every aspect of shipboard safety and
operation.

Powder Horn is a resource course designed to introduce Scout adult and youth leaders to exciting high adventure possibilities for their units and show them how to make them a reality!
It uses expert consultants from the community to introduce a wide variety of activity and High Adventure networking opportunities for their Venturing Units.
Crews are formed from the participants and everyone is able to experience and learn how to motivate their home units.
Activities may include kayaking, canoeing, sailing, fishing, expedition planning, GPS navigation, backpacking, first aid, rifle, pistol, shotgun, high and low COPE, geocaching and much more.
This course will be open to all adults and Venturing age youth (male and female, 16 YEARS AND OLDER)!
All participants should be mature leaders and registered members of the Boy Scouts of America.
Youth participants will be asked to provide an adult Scouter reference (preferably a Crew Advisor, Scoutmaster or Skipper) to confirm ability to meet expectations. The form will be emailed to you from the Course Director.
The course is looking to represent as many different Crews as possible.
