Before Snoop & Friends hit the stage, our four-legged security team was already hard at work. 🐾

Detection K9s Max, Nessi, and Willow conducted explosive and illegal fi****ms detection sweeps throughout the venue to help ensure a safe environment for all guests attending the amphitheater events.

Long before the lights come on and the music starts, these teams are working behind the scenes using their highly specialized training to help keep our community safe.

Thank you to our K9 teams for their dedication, professionalism, and countless hours of training.

It’s a busy weekend in Long Beach! 🐾

As event season ramps up, the city is welcoming the opening of the F&M Bank Amphitheater, the 94th Annual Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors, and numerous other events taking place throughout the area.

Here, Detection K-9 Lobo is conducting a security sweep of the conference venue, helping ensure a safe environment for attendees, staff, and visitors. From large-scale conferences to community events, our K-9 teams work behind the scenes every day to support public safety.

Thank you to our handlers, officers, and K-9 partners who continue to serve and protect our community.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Retired K9 Storm, beloved partner of retired Long Beach Police Officer Mike Parcells.

Storm faithfully served the Long Beach community from 2016 to 2022, earning the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Known for his intelligence, courage, loyalty, and relentless work ethic, Storm was more than a police dog—he was a trusted partner, protector, and member of the law enforcement family.

After retiring from duty, Storm traded patrol work for a well-deserved life of comfort and peace in Arizona, spending his days with Mike, Lisa, Profi, and Chloe. He embraced retirement the way every working K9 deserves—surrounded by love, long walks, plenty of rest, and the people who meant the most to him.

Following a brief battle with cancer, Storm passed away on May 28, 2026, with his family by his side.

To Mike and the entire Parcells family, we extend our deepest condolences. Thank you for sharing Storm with our community and for giving him a life filled with purpose, love, and dignity.

Run free, Storm. Your watch may be over, but your legacy of service and devotion will never be forgotten.

We had an incredible time at the Long Beach Police Officers Association Easter Egg Hunt!

A huge thank you to Paul Gingras for putting on an exciting K-9 demonstration with Patrol K-9 Jimmy—showcasing the skill, discipline, and teamwork that make these units so vital to our community. 💪🐕‍🦺

Families also got the chance to meet the amazing Detection K-9 Nessi during a special meet & greet—always a crowd favorite! 🐾❤️

We’re proud to be part of events that bring our community and K-9 teams together in such a meaningful way.

Retired Patrol K9 Duke is enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Every now and then, we like to check in on our retired K9s—and Duke is living his best life.

More rest, more time with his family, and a little more white on his face, each one a reminder of years of loyal service to the Long Beach Police Department.

Once a protector, always a hero.
