Our Long Beach artists have been exploring air brush techniques and the use of stencils recently. They have been making a bunch of patterned papers they plan to use in other art projects in creative ways. ⁠

We can’t wait to celebrate 44 years of creativity with you all at our Ice Cream Social Fundraiser!

We were able to ✨SELL OUT✨ this event thanks to the support of our wonderful community! If you have a ticket then get ready to join us at the Able ARTS Work headquarters this Saturday, August 29th for a day of sweet FUN!

Our Hawthorne artists, Michael and Jesus, made a special trip to to check out their huge selection of decorative garden pots and get some inspiration for creating some of their own!⁠

They took all that they saw back to the studio where they’re hard at work creating some special pottery meant for the garden at the studio and some super special decorations for an upcoming event. ⁠

Get to know Ping Ho, MA, MPH and Barbara Reuer, PhD, MT-BC, the 2026 recipients of the prestigious Dr. Ami and Remo Belli Humanitarian Award. Together, they are being recognized for their extraordinary leadership and lifelong dedication to advancing healing, connection, and resilience through the arts. ⁠

Ping Ho is Founding Director of Arts and Healing Initiative , which transforms lives through the innate power of the arts, guided by mental health practices, to foster healing, connection and resilience for all. Her vision for this field reflects the nexus of her graduate education in counseling psychology and public health with her lifelong experience in performing arts. ⁠
⁠
For more than 50 years, Barbara Reuer, Founder and CEO of MusicWorx and retired Founder of Resounding Joy, has demonstrated the power of music to heal, connect, and transform lives. She also has helped bring music therapy and arts-based wellness programs to thousands of individuals facing illness, isolation, trauma, and life challenges. Her life's work reflects a belief that the greatest legacy is not what we accomplish ourselves, but what we inspire others to create through compassion, service, and the healing arts. ⁠

Our Long Beach artists have been working together on two collaborative landscape pieces and they turned out AMAZING! It’s all smiles over here whenever we work together. 😄
