🐱✨ This week, 96 cats got a brighter future.

Some arrived in traps after years of living outdoors. Some came with loving families doing the responsible thing. Others were rescued from difficult situations and are now one step closer to finding homes of their own.

No matter where they came from, they all had one thing in common: someone cared enough to help.

This week, our team spayed and neutered 96 cats through the Long Beach Community Cat Clinic:
🐾 46 Community Cats
🐾 48 Owned & Rescue Cats

Every surgery helps prevent future suffering and reduces the number of kittens born without homes. It’s work that doesn’t always make headlines, but it changes lives every single day.

Swipe through to meet just a few of the beautiful cats who visited us this week. They represent the thousands of cats who are given a better chance because of this program.

A heartfelt thank you to the partners who make this work possible:

❤️ FixNation
❤️ Michelle Smith

To everyone who traps, transports, fosters, donates, volunteers, and cares for community cats—these successes belong to you, too.

Together, we’re building a kinder future for cats in our community.

💛 Volunteer Spotlight: Vena 💛

Some heroes wear capes. Others survive on kitten formula, sleepless nights, and an endless supply of love. 🐱🍼

Vena has fostered over 150 kittens during her time with The Little Lion Foundation, including many neonatal, bottle-fed babies requiring around-the-clock care. These are some of the most vulnerable lives in rescue, and even when the outlook isn't great, Vena gives every kitten her very best.

The impact of her work is hard to put into words. Hundreds of kittens have grown strong enough to find loving homes because someone was willing to answer the call at all hours of the day and night. Time and time again, Vena takes on our tiniest, most fragile kittens and helps them become the sweet, thriving cats they were meant to be.

As if that weren't enough, Vena also volunteers as our Social Media Manager, coordinating hundreds of posts, reels, stories, and events that help connect our rescue with the community. While supporting her family and caring for foster kittens, she somehow finds time to make sure our cats' stories are seen.

Vena, thank you for the lives you've saved, the families you've created, and the heart you bring to everything you do. We are so grateful for you. 💛🐾

✨🐾 THE POWER OF A MICROCHIP 🐾✨

As we wrap up National Chip Your Pet Month, we want to share a powerful reminder of why microchipping matters. ❤️

Almost a year ago, Mark and Irving were adopted together into what we thought was their forever home. Then, just one month later, we received a call: Irving had been found wandering on a military base over an hour away. The next day, another call came in—Mark had been found in the same place. 😔

Their adopter could not be reached, but because we remain listed as a secondary contact on our cats’ microchips for life, both boys made their way back to us. 🙏🏼

They were underweight, covered in ticks, and exhausted—but safe. And they were home because of a microchip.

Today, Mark is thriving with his loving forever family, and Irving became a WIN to his foster mom, Laura Evans. He’s also a wonderful uncle to our Little Lion fosters! 🦁

A microchip is tiny, but it can make a life-saving difference. At our Wellness Clinic, microchipping is affordable, can be done as early as 4 weeks old, and includes FREE lifetime registration.

If your cat isn’t microchipped yet, schedule an appointment through the link in our bio! 🔗

146 Community Cats Fixed This Month — And We’re Just Getting Started! 🐾

It has been a SUPER busy month at the Long Beach Community Cat Clinic, and while we haven’t posted as often as we would have liked, we’ve been hard at work helping community cats throughout our city. 🐾

Just look at some of the beautiful community cats we were able to help this past month! From friendly neighborhood felines to spicy ferals, every single cat matters. Through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), these cats received spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, flea treatment, and compassionate care to help them live healthier lives while preventing future litters from suffering on the streets.

This month alone, we fixed 146 community cats! 🎉

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing supporters who help make this lifesaving work possible:
❤️ Dr. Lisa Pierson
❤️ FixNation
❤️ Friends of Long Beach Animals (FOLBA)
❤️ Long Beach Animal Care Services

We truly couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for helping us create a kinder future for Long Beach’s community cats

🐾 Community Cat of the Day 🐾

These photos don’t do him justice, but this handsome guy is one of the dirtiest cats we’ve seen in a very long time. Life on the streets is tough, and it shows. He’s thin, sick, and has clearly been struggling to survive.

Thankfully, this special boy has dedicated caretakers at a Buddhist temple in Long Beach who care deeply about him and wanted to give him a chance at a better life. Today, he received the full Royal Feral Cat Spa Package — complete with neuter surgery, vaccinations, parasite treatment, medical care, and plenty of TLC from our team.

While we can’t explain to him why he’s spending the day with us, we’re hopeful that this brief stay at the “spa” will help him enjoy a longer, healthier, and more comfortable life back with the people who love him.

Community cats matter. Every cat we help is one less animal suffering silently outdoors.

A huge thank you to our generous donors, Dr. Lisa Pierson and FixNation, for helping make lifesaving Community Cat Program services like this possible. Together, we’re changing lives—one cat at a time. ❤️
