✨As fireworks season approaches, many pets experience fear, anxiety, and stress from the loud noises and increased activity. At the same time, our shelter often sees an increase in lost and stray pets around the Fourth of July.

That’s why we’re asking our community to help us clear a kennel and create space for pets who may need us during the holiday.

Join us for our Foster the Fourth Kickoff Event and meet adoptable dogs looking for a temporary home.🩵🐾

Walk with us! Guapo (pictured) LOVES his pack walks. And secret: he celebrates his birthday next week. Stay tuned! Come join us every Saturday at Colorado Lagoon at 9 AM This beautiful no-intro walk goes past the lagoon and the marina! Some call it a pup parade! Meet on the corner of Orlena & Vermont. Please sign the release in our bio if you haven’t signed one yet.

Our walks respect you and your dog’s need for space, help dogs learn to be calm around others and create an opportunity for us to meet and support each other. Walks among others can satisfy our dog’s need to belong and often lead to a long nap afterwards. And if you need help with any behavior challenges, we can offer suggestions to help you overcome or manage them. Please reach out!

Some of our dogs are scared. Some are shy. Some are reactive. Some are friendly, but learning how to be calm around others. We maintain these rules on our walks: a minimum of ten feet from others (unless dogs are together), one dog per handler, a six-foot or shorter leash (no retractables, please) and NO dog intros. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep their dogs safe and safely under control. If you can follow our rules, you are welcome to join us. Please feel free to use a muzzle if your dog would benefit from it. If you’re not sure if your dog would do well at a pack walk, please message us for more information.
