Neighborhood MED

Neighborhood MED M.E.D. stands for "Medical Enrichment through Diversity"

In an effort to continue outreach to our community, the Long Beach Memorial Family Residency program will be starting a new mentorship program that is geared at underrepresented minority students at the university and eventually at the high school level. Through this pipeline program we hope to prepare and inspire young students to pursue a career in medicine. There is a great need to increase div

ersity in the medical field, to have providers that can mirror the community that they serve. This program is created to support the growth and help develop culturally sensitive physicians who understand the social determinants of health in underserved communities.
