Independence at Home IAH offers no-cost programs and services designed to assist older adults and their caregivers.

Independence at Home is a community service of SCAN, a senior-focused organization founded in Long Beach, California in 1977. The goal then was to create a program to provide seniors easy access to community-based services that would allow them to remain healthy and independent at home. Today, Independence at Home offers a range of programs to meet the needs of seniors, disabled adults and their c

aregivers -- including government programs and in-home assistance, case management and referrals to resources. If you or a loved one needs help living safely at home, please contact Independence at Home at 866-421-1964.

Medicare Fraud Prevention Week starts June 1–5. Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse can impact your care, your time, and your peace of mind. Knowing what to look for can help protect you and your benefits.

This national awareness week is hosted by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)—a program dedicated to helping people prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud.

🚩Watch for red flags:
- Charges for services you didn’t receive
- Bills that don’t match your care
- Unnecessary tests or supplies
- Requests for your Medicare number from unfamiliar sources
