Today, Independence at Home offers a range of programs to meet the needs of seniors, disabled adults and their c

aregivers -- including government programs and in-home assistance, case management and referrals to resources. If you or a loved one needs help living safely at home, please contact Independence at Home at 866-421-1964.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
Elder abuse affects millions of older adults each year, yet it often goes unseen and unspoken.

At Independence at Home, we are proud to partner with the National Center on Elder Abuse to help bring this issue into the open. In a thoughtful Q&A, our Director of Community Giving, Mercedes Perezchica, and NCEA’s Deputy Director, Kimmy Moon, talk about why elder abuse is often overlooked, how ageism shapes the conversation, and what we can all do to better support the safety, dignity, and independence of older adults.

Today, it’s Official:
💙 It’s Men’s Health Month 💙

Health starts with conversation.

This June, we’re focusing on what truly makes a difference—education, prevention, and connection.

When men are supported by their families, partners, and communities, they are more likely to engage in their health and take action early.

Prevention starts it.
Partnership sustains it.
