Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Long Beach program was established in May Everything is provided to the participants at no cost.

Project Healing Waters Fly-Fishing (PHWFF) is open to wounded military service members and veterans. PHWFF provides therapeutic outdoor recreation for the disabled, utilizing the sport of fly fishing as a rehabilitation tool. We have regularly scheduled weekly classes during which we teach Fly Fishing 101 classes, casting instruction, fly-tying classes, rod building classes, additionally we go on both one day and overnight fishing outings. Donations of equipment or cash are tax-deductible. All donations are appreciated! Our weekly classes are on Monday mornings from 9-11am. We currently meet at the American Legion Club House located at 5938 Parkcrest Street, Long Beach, CA 90908.

It's hard to believe its been a year since Craig took over as Lead for Project Healing Waters Long Beach. All the participants are grateful for the time, generosity, leadership and hard work you have brought to PHW Long Beach. Also, A huge thank you to our Assistant Program Lead Shirley who took on the job as Assistant Program Lead at the same time. Thank you both, You are both greatly appreciated by everyone here at Project Jeading Waters Long Beach. We are all looking forward to the next year with you both.

We had a great guest this past week from Disabled Veterans Charities. Thank you sir for your very generous donation to our organization and helping support fellow veterans. In addition, everyone is almost done building their fly rod. Some of our veterans are already out practicing their casting with their new rod so they will be ready to go after those giant trout!.

Rod Building continues. Our veterans are having a great time and for the ones who are building their first rod are learning a great deal about what goes into building a fly rod. Once they are done everyone will have a great rod to catch those huge fish with.
