Sea Scouting, deeply rooted in centuries-old traditions, offers a gateway to exciting adventures and the chance to forge enduring friendships. No prior boat experience is required; we are committed to equipping you with all the necessary skills. Embarking on a cruise extends beyond the ordinary day outing, immersing you in a unique maritime experience. Living aboard entails sharing responsibilitie
s as helmsman, navigator, lookout, cook, and engineer. Each day unfolds as a sea-roving summer camp, with mornings unveiling new destinations and evenings showcasing the ever-changing scenery of diverse harbors. Our journeys encompass captivating locations such as Avalon, Two Harbors, Emerald Bay, and various parts of Catalina Island, as well as extended voyages along the West Coast. The annual Summer Cruise has navigated us to the Channel Islands, San Francisco, Sacramento, and even as far north as Alaska and south to Baja California, Mexico. Harbor cruises, fishing expeditions, and whale-watching excursions further enrich our maritime experiences. Engaging in nautical competitions annually allows us to put our acquired skills to the test against other Sea Scout ships nationwide. To join our ranks, you need to be at least 13 years old and have completed the 8th grade, and you can remain a Sea Scout until your 21st birthday.
