The City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Board of Aldermen recognize September as Su***de Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, encouraging conversations, and reminding those who may be struggling that help and hope are available.

In recognition of Su***de Prevention Month, the Gateway Tower and surrounding area are shining teal to help bring awareness to su***de prevention throughout our community.

As you see the teal lights this month, let them serve as a reminder to check in on your friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers. Sometimes, a conversation can make a difference.

Together, Long Beach stands for hope, awareness, and support. 💙

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to share memories, thoughts, and love about Peyton. Today, I had the privilege of speaking with several incredible people who loved him deeply and shared special stories that reminded me just how many lives he touched.

I was also blessed to run into someone I’ve long wanted to tell just how much Peyton cared about them and how special they truly were to him.

Today is not only a day of remembrance — it is a day to celebrate Peyton’s life, his heart, and the impact he continues to have on so many people.
