Calling All Community Organizations serving youth!!!!

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well.

We’re excited to invite your organization to be part of Peace in the Park, happening May 16 and hosted by Project X LB.

We’re bringing together 10–15 organizations to table at this community event and connect youth and families with meaningful summer resources and opportunities.

We’re especially looking for organizations that offer:

Summer programs or camps

Youth employment or internship opportunities

Academic enrichment or tutoring

Mental health and wellness resources

Recreation, arts, or sports programming

This is more than just an event—it’s a chance to show up for our community, build connections, and make sure families know what’s available to them this summer.

Interested in tabling? Reach out and let’s build something impactful together.

“Handle me with care.”
“Do not judge.”
“Kind. Loyal. Honest.”

Today, our youth told us exactly who they are—and how they deserve to be treated.

Through our Care Tag activity, they turned reflection into expression… and expression into power.

Because when young people understand their value,
they stop settling for less.

We’re not just running programs.
We’re helping youth define themselves.

It’s official!!!

We’re proud to share that PXLB is partnering with the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) to bring V.i.B.e. (Voice, Identity, Belonging, Expression) Camp to life this summer.

What started as a vision… is now a real space.

For 3 weeks, teens will step into a museum environment to explore:
Art. Identity. Voice.

This is more than a camp.
It’s a space for self-expression, growth, and discovering who you are…through creativity and community.

From the community… to the museum.

And this is just the beginning.

Today at our newest school Hamilton middle school-we explored what a safe space really is what it isn’t.

Not just physically… but mentally and emotionally.

Through art, these young men created spaces that represented:
• Peace
• Escape
• Control
• And sometimes… a place that doesn’t exist yet, but needs to

What stood out most wasn’t just the creativity—it was the engagement.

These young men were locked in, focused, and willing to peel back layers in a way that doesn’t always happen through conversation alone.

This is why we use art.

It gives students a way to express what they may not have the words for yet.

Support. Heal. Inspire. Flourish. Transform.

Today we used art to break down something a lot of young people struggle with—but don’t always have the words for: anger.

We talked about how anger doesn’t just appear out of nowhere.
It builds. It sits. It grows… like a volcano.

Through drawing, students explored:
• What builds their anger
• What it feels like before it explodes
• What happens when it does

No pressure to share. No right or wrong answers. Just space to reflect.

What stood out most wasn’t the drawings—it was the focus, the honesty, and the willingness to engage.

This is what it looks like to create space for young people to understand themselves without judgment.

Support. Heal. Inspire. Flourish. Transform.

Today at the the NorthTown Festival we asked a simple question:
“What makes you happy?”

Families, kids, and neighbors filled the page with words that matter most — family, faith, community, love, and helping others.

Sometimes healing starts with a small reflection.

This is the heart of what we do through SHIFT with Project X LB — creating spaces where people can pause, reflect, and connect with what brings meaning to their lives.

What young people show the world
is not always what they feel inside.

During a recent SHIFT session with our 5th–7th grade students, we asked them to reflect on a powerful question:

“How people think I feel vs. how I actually feel.”

Through art, students revealed something deeply honest.

Some showed the smiles people see every day.
Others showed confusion, sadness, or feeling overwhelmed on the inside.

This is why our work is grounded in the BRUH framework.

BRUH stands for:

• Belonging – creating spaces where young people feel safe and valued
• Recognizing – helping students recognize their emotions and experiences
• Understanding – developing emotional awareness and empathy
• Healing – building healthy ways to process challenges and grow

Programs like SHIFT bring the BRUH framework to life, giving students opportunities to reflect, express themselves, and build the emotional tools they need to navigate life.

When young people feel seen, heard, and supported, something powerful happens.

They begin to grow with confidence, awareness, and resilience.

Today in SHIFT, I asked our middle school students to create their Emotional Toolkit and the tools they use to navigate the ups and downs of middle school.

One 7th grader titled this piece “Serenity.”

Look closely.

There’s noise.
Pressure.
Confusion.
Crossed-out thoughts.
“Do this!”
“So ugly.”
Chaos all around.

And in the center?
A calm blue figure wearing headphones.

That’s the toolkit.

Serenity isn’t the absence of noise.
It’s learning how to center yourself within it.

Middle school is loud and socially, emotionally, mentally.
But our students are learning how to pause, regulate, reflect, and protect their peace.

This is what healing-centered work looks like.
This is prevention.
This is emotional literacy.

And it starts with giving young people space to express what’s really happening inside.

SHIFT isn’t just a program.
It’s a safe space to build tools that last beyond the classroom.

Proud of this young leader. 💛

Today’s SHIFT session focused on cultural identity and self-expression through our “Culture Shield” activity.

Students reflected on:
• Their heritage
• Their family values
• Their interests
• Their future goals

These moments help build emotional literacy, self-awareness, and resilience and key foundations for long-term success.

At Project X LB, we believe strong communities start with confident youth
