Only 1 in 25 foster youth earn a four-year college degree...

What if growing opportunities defined a youth's future instead of circumstance?

This problem affects more than just foster youth. It reveals a lack of exposure, mentorship, and to our young adults. Futures First is working to change that by working to provide free education and workforce development resources, referrals, workshops, guidance, and more access to thrive.

🏆 A Historic Win for California Workers!

We are thrilled to share that Governor Newsom signed the 2026–27 State Budget, securing $30 million annually for the California Workplace Outreach Program (CWOP) for the next three years! 🎉

Our own outreach navigator, as well as other organizations, traveled to Sacramento to advocate for this funding. This is a win for all workers who are too often overlooked or targeted with trusted resources, support, and knowledge of their rights.

We’re proud to celebrate this important step toward a future where every worker has the tools and opportunity to thrive!

We're proud to officially welcome the first cohort of the Futures First × California State University, Dominguez Hills Community Health Worker (CHW) Apprenticeship Program! 👏

This group represents the future of community health. Our youth will learn to serve their communities, advance health equity, and making a lasting impact where it's needed most.

Through this partnership, participants will gain hands-on experience and field training to become skilled Community Health Workers who help bridge gaps in healthcare access.

Congratulations to Cohort 1! Your journey starts here, and we can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish. Thank you to our partners, faculty, mentors, and everyone who helped make this program a reality💙🧡

RAY is turning 1! 🎉

A year ago, the Department of Youth Development () launched RAY (Reentry Action for Youth) to help justice-involved youth thrive through care-first, community-centered support.️

Today, RAY is expanding... bridging the gap between the courtroom and the community by providing:
🌟 Culturally appropriate mentorship
💰 Monthly stipends & basic needs (housing, legal aid, tuition)
📚 Education & career pathways

Through RAY, is reducing youth incarceration & building a path to true healing and success. 🚀 Here’s to one year of impact!
