💙 HELP US SERVE THE BENWARE FAMILY! 💙

We have the incredible opportunity to come together and serve the Benware family on September 5th — and we would love for our Mission 212 family and community to join us!

The Benwares have walked through an incredibly difficult season, yet their faith, strength, and trust in the Lord have been so inspiring. They have graciously opened their home and allowed so many people to come alongside them and serve their sweet family. What a beautiful example of allowing others to love you, support you, and be the hands and feet of Jesus. 🙏🏼

Now it’s our turn to show up for them! ❤️

There are morning and afternoon projects, including painting, siding, cleaning, building a front porch and back deck, digging up a fence and helping care for their home. Whether you can bring a paintbrush, a vacuum, a cleaning rag, or simply your willingness to serve — there is a place for you!

What happened at Fireworks for Fathers was so much bigger than a fireworks show. This is what it looks like when a community chooses to love well.

What made Fireworks for Fathers so meaningful was not only the incredible food, the beautiful fireworks, or the perfect summer evening. It was seeing a whole community come together with one heart and one purpose: to surround Brinks and Laira Brewster with love and remind them that they do not have to walk this journey alone.

Watching families gather in our yard, children laughing and playing, friends reconnecting, volunteers serving, and hundreds of people choosing to spend their Independence Day weekend supporting a family facing cancer was deeply moving. It was a powerful reminder that even in the hardest seasons of life, hope shines brightest when people choose to carry one another’s burdens.

To every sponsor, volunteer, donor, and guest—thank you. Your generosity reaches far beyond one night. It brings hope, eases burdens, and reminds families like the Brewsters that they are surrounded by a community that cares.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this year’s Fireworks for Fathers so unforgettable. We are humbled, encouraged, and overwhelmed by your kindness. God is doing amazing things through this community, and we are grateful to be a part of it.

We’re finalizing the food plans today! This is the final reminder to let us know if you’re coming to the party on Saturday. We hope you can make it!

You’re invited to a Mission 212 Foundation 4th of July celebration at Austin and Andrea Hill’s home, and friends and family are welcome! It’ll be a fun, family-friendly night with food, a great view of the fireworks, and a chance to spend time together.

Mission 212 Foundation is a nonprofit supporting Kansas City area fathers and their families who are fighting cancer by helping provide financial support and resources during a really difficult time. It’s a mission that’s very personal to our group, and this event helps support that cause.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who show up day after day, whether they feel strong or exhausted, confident or afraid. The dads who work long hours, coach the team, read bedtime stories, wipe away tears, pray over their children, and somehow keep moving forward even when life feels impossibly heavy.

At Mission 212 Foundation, we hold a special place in our hearts for the fathers walking through cancer. The men sitting in infusion chairs while still trying to make it to dance recitals and baseball games. The dads navigating scans, surgeries, and uncertainty while doing everything they can to protect the childhood of the kids they love. The fathers who wonder if they’re doing enough, even as they give everything they have.

We want you to know this:

Your presence matters more than your perfection.

Your children won’t remember every gift you bought or every project you finished. They’ll remember your hugs, your laughter, the way you made them feel safe, the prayers you whispered over them, and the love you gave them in ordinary moments.

If this Father’s Day finds you celebrating, grieving, fighting, healing, or missing a dad who helped shape your life, we’re with you.

To the fathers in the battle, keep going.

To the fathers in remission, keep living fully.

To the fathers carrying loss, we remember with you.

And to every dad who chooses, day after day, to love sacrificially and lead courageously, thank you.

You are making an impact far greater than you know.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a face painter for the 4th of July party? Ideally someone who would be open to 2 hours of face painting for the kids and then they can sit back and enjoy the fireworks show afterwards!
