Tomorrow is the big day!!! You all are part of something historic! The 1st llama/alpaca show! How exciting! Thank you for your efforts in getting this project started in Ross County and bringing to light some amazing farm animals!!

Tomorrow, the show will begin with Showmanship.
It will go in alphabetical order. The announcer will announce the exhibitor and the animal they are showing. As the announcer is speaking, you make walk and maneuver your animal around on the lead. You may take your animal in a pattern, make turns, and set your animal up for evaluation.
Please refer to your 4-H project book for expectations of where you should be standing if this is something you need a refresher on.

Once the exhibitor has finished they will exit and after the last exhibitor has shown, they will come out in order and line up giving good space between animals for a judges last look. They will exit and begin getting costumes on. The exhibitors will have 15 minutes to change into costume. The show will maintain the same call order.

Once the competition is complete, awards will be announced.

At the concussion. All exhibitors are responsible for helping clean up the areas used and properly disposing of any waste/shavings etc. before leaving.

Have a great show!

Please post all of your pictures here!

Did you know that alpacas have three different types of teeth? 🦷 The incisors, molars, and canines all play a specific role in eating and overall health

• Incisors: Located on the lower front jaw, these are used for grazing. They should align with the upper dental pad. Poor alignment can lead to them getting too long and will need to be trimmed.
• Molars: Found at the back of the mouth on both jaws, molars grind food and help alpacas chew cud, which is an essential part of digestion.
• Canines: These appear around age one, between the incisors and molars. Males may use them on other males, so regular trimming is important. Females rarely use theirs and typically don't need trimming.

Keeping teeth in check is an important part of alpaca health care.
