The Blessed First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are among the most sacred and beloved days to Allah ﷻ. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)

These are days of immense mercy, forgiveness, and opportunity. Let us strive to increase in:
Salah and Qur’an recitation
Dhikr and Takbeer
Fasting, especially the Day of ‘Arafah
Charity and helping others
Sincere du‘a and repentance

Do not let these blessed days pass by like ordinary days. Every good deed is multiplied, and every moment is a chance to draw closer to Allah ﷻ.

May Allah accept our worship, forgive our shortcomings, and allow us to make the most of these precious days. Ameen.

The Mercy, Love, and Concern of the Prophet ﷺ for His Ummah

The life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a living example of compassion, mercy, and deep care for humanity. Allah describes him in the Qur’an:

“Indeed, there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; he is concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.” (9:128)

His mercy was not limited to his companions—it extended to every member of his ummah, even those who would come long after him. He ﷺ would spend nights in prayer, weeping and making du‘ā for us, saying, “My Ummah, my Ummah.”

There is a beautiful narration in which the Prophet ﷺ was seen in a state of sorrow. Jibreel عليه السلام came to him and asked why he was distressed. The Prophet ﷺ replied, “My Ummah, my Ummah.” Jibreel عليه السلام then conveyed glad tidings from Allah—that He would not disappoint him regarding his ummah.

Even in the most difficult moments, such as the incident of Ta’if, when he was rejected and harmed, he did not seek revenge. Instead, he prayed for guidance for his people, hoping that future generations would believe.

On the Day of Judgment, while others will say “myself, myself,” the Prophet ﷺ will say “my ummah, my ummah,” interceding and pleading for our forgiveness.

This is the depth of his love—a love rooted in mercy, patience, and sincere concern for our success in this life and the next.

Let us honor that love by following his example, embodying mercy in our own lives, and striving to remain connected to his teachings.
