OCTOBER MEETING | A CREATIVE TABLESCAPE WITH ALEX NARRAMORE
We are so excited to welcome Alex Narramore, better known as The Mischief Maker, to our October meeting.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 | NOON
994 Angel Acres
Location may shift slightly, but we will definitely be somewhere on the farm.

Alex is a Lexington-based artist, designer, baker and creative force whose work sits at the intersection of gardening, art, entertaining and food. She is especially known for her extraordinary hand-sculpted sugar flowers, created petal by petal and modeled from flowers grown in her own garden. Her work has earned national and international recognition, and she has also appeared on Food Network as an expert judge.

For us, though, she is bringing that same eye for detail, color and composition to something a little closer to home: an elevated, creative tablescape just in time for holiday decorating.

Expect ideas you can actually use, beautiful details, a little mischief, and plenty of inspiration for entertaining with more personality and less fuss.

And yes, lunch is part of the fun. We’ll be serving a soup flight with a few different soups to sample, dessert of course, plus all the good conversation that comes with a Garden Club table.

New people are always welcome. If you have been curious about the London Garden Club, this would be a wonderful meeting to join us. Just send us a DM so we know you’re coming and can be sure someone is there to greet you and make you feel right at home.

Please join me in congratulating our very own GCKY member Susan Throneberry on the announcement of her being named to the NGC Slate of Officers as Third Vice President for the next term. She will be a great addition to the team. She will represent Kentucky well.

LONDON GARDEN CLUB | TELLING OUR STORY
What a wonderful September meeting!

We were delighted to welcome Carla Hawkins, Second Vice President of The Garden Club of Kentucky and Chair of the GCKY Awards Committee, who joined us to talk about something every garden club should be doing: telling our story.

Carla walked us through the many awards available to Kentucky garden clubs and, more importantly, helped us look at our own work with fresh eyes. We left energized, realizing that we already have several projects worth documenting, sharing and celebrating. We’re excited to become more intentional about telling the story of the work happening right here in our community, and yes, we’re pretty excited about the possibility of submitting some of that work for awards too! 🌿

Thank you, Carla, for sharing your knowledge, encouragement and enthusiasm with us.

We also officially welcomed Debra Fields as our newest member! Our club continues to grow, and we couldn’t be happier to see new faces joining us around the table.

A big thank you to Fredi Angel for hosting us and to everyone who contributed to the absolutely delicious spread. Garden Club meetings certainly do not lack for good food. 😂

It's that time again! Our monthly meeting is just around the corner!

So thankful for so much interest in joining the London Garden Club! Many thanks to everyone who has reached out and requested information.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, September 9 at noon 994 Angel Acres, London, Kentucky.

Carla Hawkins will guide us through the awards process and best practices to tell our story.

Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are new, please let us know you are coming so we can be ready to greet you. 🥰
