Native plants are having a moment and for good reason. 🌿

Join the London Garden Club on July 8 as we welcome Melanie Lawless, Co-Founder of Joy of Natives, for a program on the beauty and benefits of gardening with native plants.

Melanie is passionate about helping native plants find their way back into our landscapes. Through Joy of Natives, she has inspired gardeners across Kentucky to create beautiful outdoor spaces that support pollinators, birds, butterflies, and healthier ecosystems.

Whether you're a lifelong gardener or simply curious about native plants, you'll leave with practical ideas and plenty of inspiration.

🌸 What a lovely afternoon with the London Garden Club! 🌸

A heartfelt thank you to Glenna Sue Angel for graciously opening her home and treating us to a delicious lunch. The wonderful meal, along with all of the tasty side dishes and desserts shared by our members, made for a beautiful time of fellowship and friendship around the table.

We were also honored to welcome Garden Club of Kentucky President Sharon Markesbery Burcham, who presented a fun and inspiring demonstration on creative floral design.

Sharon also shared many practical tips, tricks, and fresh ideas that will be especially valuable as our new club continues to grow and learn together. Her enthusiasm and encouragement are truly contagious!

Days like today remind us that garden club is about so much more than flowers…it's about sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and building friendships that bloom right alongside our gardens. 🌿💐

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special!

Enjoy an afternoon filled with flowers, fellowship, music, fresh air, and happy hearts as we officially open the garden to the community. 💚

A special invitation is extended to the families affected by the May 2025 tornadoes and to all the angels, volunteers, donors, organizations, and helping hands who brought the garden back to life. The public is invited to celebrate with us.

Come for the ribbon cutting, stay for the home-baked original recipe Girl Scout cookies. Fair warning… they will disappear fast. 🍪🌸

If you’ve driven by the former community garden on Extension Road lately and done a double take… you’re not imagining things.

What was once an overgrown, forgotten space is being brought back to life with a new purpose. The garden will grow fresh vegetables for Isaiah 58:10 Ministries and serve as a place for hands-on education through the Laurel County Extension Office and Master Gardener program.

Volunteers from Isaiah 58:10 have been instrumental in restoring this space from the ground up. Alongside the London Garden Club, the Extension Office and Master Gardener program, and Girl Scout Troop 2781, this has truly been a community effort to clear, rebuild, and replant the garden with intention.

The before and after you’re seeing now is just the beginning. We will be planting on Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 AM if anyone would like to come out and help.

We would love for you to join us as we celebrate this transformation.

Our April meeting was a good one. We made real progress on the Angels Among Us community garden and spent time assembling our basket for the state meeting, filled with handcrafted pieces from our own members.
Thank you to Cinda Blanton Proffitt, Elena Angel, Kelly Angel, and Candace Frazier for the special touches.

Thank you Michael K Angel for helping us build these adorable birdhouses. We appreciate the care you took in assembling the kits and your patience with newbies learning how to use power tools. 😊🐦‍⬛🪺

Our next meeting will be Derby themed, so bring your best hat and your favorite Derby dish. There will be no program so we can focus on final planning for the garden and keep things moving forward.
