We decided to throw down to support London Pride 9/5 nailed down 2 tabling events, got a new Steering Committee Representative - Natalia Munoz - and celebrated the Auntie Network, David Miller, Bailey Patterson, and Ashley Homrich who all got awards at our Annual Business Meeting! Some of our folks are carpooling to Singing for Democracy, we set up a chapter calendar and listserv, we went over our candidate endorsements, and much more.

All,

Tomorrow starts our 2026 Candidate and Campaign Manager Training at 6:30pm ET.

You can run for public office - or help someone else win.

2026 dates are set as Tuesdays in August 6:30pm to 8:30pm - an arc of 4 trainings that will complete the total 8-hour training.

Learn the basics of running for office including honing your message, building your team, designing your campaign plan, asking for donations, and running a field campaign. If you've ever thought about running for office, this is a great space to explore that more deeply. This approach focuses on leveraging skills you might have developed in grassroots issue-based organizing work and applies them to run for office. You'll lean into issues, build a leaderful campaign, and incorporate racial justice into your efforts.

Elements include centering in a different way of running rooted in relationships, leadership development, issues, conviction, and leading with a race/class analysis. We'll talk about campaign plans, centering our stories, building out a powerful team, finances, and much more.

This training will be most useful for people considering a run in 2027 or beyond, but could also be helpful for people currently working on campaigns.

We'll have special guests share their experience running for office and more.

Confirmed 2026 speakers include Charles Booker, Attica Scott, Shameka Parrish-Wright, Dan Wu, Chase Carson, Jason Worms, and Becky Skaggs.

2025 speakers included Charles Booker, Dr. Brittney Hernandez-Stevenson, Commissioner Katima Smith-Willis, Chase Carson, Commissioner Dana Beasley-Brown, Representative Joshua Watkins, Councilwoman Emma Curtis and Mayor Robert Blythe.

This is a virtual training that will be held online on zoom.
