The Little Darby Creek Covered Bridge, 100 W. Taylor Blair Road, in Madison County in West Jefferson, will officially be renamed “David P Brand Memorial Bridge.”

When a bridge over the Little Darby Creek needed to be brought up to modern needs, David Brand, former Madison County Engineer (1966 - 2015), research many options to find an affordable, aesthetically pleasing bridge that could span the entire State and National Scenic River. Then he worked with many partners to fund this vision. The bridge was completed in 2012. Today, it is a local source of pride for the community.

In his honor, the Little Darby Creek Covered Bridge will be officially renamed the “David P Brand Memorial Bridge.” The dedication ceremony will be at the bridge at 11:00 am on May 19th, 2026. The bridge is located just west of West Jefferson, Ohio, off U.S. Route 40 on Taylor-Blair Road (turn north at the Dollar General store).

All are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!

UPDATE:
We heard from our county members and have decided to make this meeting OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
While a Farm Bureau membership is not required to attend, we hope you’ll see the value in becoming a member and the benefits it provides (like this meeting with a subject matter expert)!
