Hello, my name is Katie Lombrana, and I am the Hotline Service Coordinator at the North County R**e Crisis and Child Protection Center. I am honored to be in this role and to continue supporting a mission rooted in compassion, advocacy, and care for survivors. I am grateful to be part of meaningful work that supports survivors and their loved ones during moments when compassion, safety, and connection matter most. I began volunteering with the Center in 2019, and that experience deepened my respect for the dedication, professionalism, and heart my colleagues bring to this work every day. In this role, I am committed to helping each person feel heard, supported, and connected with the resources they need. I look forward to continuing to serve our community, supporting the team, and contributing to the important work ahead.

Thank you to Lompoc Elks 2274 for hosting and inviting the center to the 2026 Public Safety Awards. We deeply appreciate the recognition by the Exalted Ruler Ned and Ella Lodge Officers of the work we do in the Lompoc Community.

Our staff selected Associate Director Sabrina Ross to receive the Top Performer Award. Sabrina is grateful for the recognition by the team and shares it with them, because the work the center does is truly a team effort and each staff member deserves an award for their outstanding dedication and service.

Today Santa Barbara Independent featured North County R**e Crisis and many of our partner agencies in Santa Barbara@safe_sbc Standing Together To End SA Kingdom Causes inc. Olive Crest Santa Barbara County District Attorney and UCSB and Noah’s Anchorage of Channel Islands YMCA, highlighting the joint effort to provide education, prevention, intervention, advocacy, and wrap around support services for CSEC and HT victims in our communities. Too often people believe trafficking is something that happens somewhere else to someone else but it happens here, in our cities, in our towns, to our kids, to our most vulnerable community members. The way to combat it is to work together in partnerships like these, to believe victims, to meet them where they are, and connect them to the resources available, to be out in our schools, talking to students at, teachers, hotel workers, clubs, and anyone who will have us to educate as many people as we can. We can assist applicants anywhere in Santa Barbara County who are victims of sexual asssualt, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
