Lompoc Family YMCA The YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living, and for social responsibility.

Starting out as a racquetball courthouse in the mid 1970s, the Lompoc Family YMCA took over the building on June 1, 1977. The most recent renovation in early 2012 has turned the 40-year old building into a state-of-the art facility allowing members and community participants to enjoy brand new equipment, a spacious group exercise studio, a cycling studio, community center, and more. vated facility now serves 2,400 individuals in the community of Lompoc, including 2,100 facility members and more than 300 community members.

✨ Cause Driven Leader of the Month✨

Victor is officially recognized as our Cause-Driven Leader of the Month for May a well-earned acknowledgment of his impact, professionalism, and commitment to YMCA values, Victor has been an outstanding addition to our YMCA childcare and PE programs. Serving as an enrichment leader at our Buena Vista site and as a PE instructor for the LUSD SEL program at Miguelito Elementary. Victor consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication to the youth and families we serve. He maintains positive, supportive interactions with students, brings high energy to every session, and takes meaningful initiative to design engaging, interactive experiences that enrich our programs. His creativity, reliability, and enthusiasm elevate the learning environment for all students he works with. Victor is also a valued team player, contributing to a collaborative and uplifting workplace culture. We are grateful for his commitment and look forward to his continued growth and future contributions to the YMCA.

LIVESTRONG at the Y! ✨ Alberto wanted to thank the YMCA and more specifically, Jaycee and Mrs. Kathy for being here along his journey through the Livestrong® program. As a constant member and even an attendee at campaign Alberto has remained strong and consistent with each and every class that he has attended. Although not every class was easy and sometimes the instructors had to push a little harder, he never gave up. Alberto has shown just how persistent and resilient he really is and inspired all of those around him within the class and even outside of it as well.

✨ We’re proud to shine a light on our incredible partners, Julia and Ryan of Blooming Energy—true champions of the Lompoc community and dedicated supporters of the Lompoc Family YMCA Teen Activity Program. -Energy is a community wellness studio rooted in connection, sustainability, and education, offering hands-on experiences that bring together food, farming, and well-being.

For the past three years, Julia and Ryan have been instrumental in empowering our teens—teaching them not only how to cook for themselves, but also how to garden, harvest, and truly understand where their food comes from. In addition, they lead the ServSafe Certification course, giving teens valuable, real-world skills and credentials that prepare them for future employment in the food industry.

Recently, our teens had the opportunity to visit the Blooming Energy farm, where they met the animals and experienced firsthand what farm life is all about. From exploring the gardens to connecting with nature, it was a meaningful and memorable experience that brought their learning full circle.

We’re excited to share that another farm field trip for teens is coming up on April 25,
departing from the YMCA at 10:00 am!
