Philip and the Ethiopian | I can choose the door of sharing Jesus
We often wonder what plans God has for our future – where we will live, what job we will have, what friends we will make. What has God created us to do? Who has He created us to be? These are huge questions that are definitely worth asking, but at the end of the day, all of God’s plans for our lives revolve around His desire for us to share Him with others. He will give us opportunities, lay plans and nudge us in directions that allow us to show love to others and share the Good News with them, but it is up to us to listen to His call and take action.

The Temptation of Jesus | I can choose the door of wisdom
The world we live in is a desert – distant from God, full of things that can hurt us and ultimately leaves us feeling dry and desperate for Living Water. The world is sinful and filled with temptations and the only thing we can do to survive is search for God and use His Word to guide us through the rough terrain as Jesus did. We need to trust that His wisdom will become our own. If we make the right choice when we are tempted to make the wrong one, we allow God to fulfill His purpose in us.

Paul and Silas in Prison | I can choose the door of joy
Paul and Silas took a tough situation and turned it into an opportunity to bring praise to God. Sadness was not going to make any progress but choosing to be joyful in that situation ultimately brought them freedom. We will experience many trials in our lives, and it is okay to feel sad or burdened by them. But God calls us to choose joy in those situations and use them as an opportunity to trust Him and how He may be working in those trials.

Jesus and Zacchaeus | I can choose the door of salvation
Jesus saw the good in Zacchaeus even when no one else did, and rather than call him out for being a sinner and a liar, Jesus offered Zacchaeus love and salvation. Zacchaeus chose to love Jesus in return for the love that He had shown him. He turned from his old life of sin and emptiness and turned to a life full in Christ. We can choose to ignore the cruelty and emptiness of the world and all the things that Satan tells us when we choose to love Christ and be reminded of who we are in Him.

There are two lessons in faith we can learn from Peter. First, he did not hesitate when Jesus called him out on the water. He trusted that Jesus would meet his needs so he stepped off the boat. Second, he only began to sink when he lost faith and took his eyes off Jesus. If we keep our eyes on Christ, He will not let us fall.

Welcome to our new series The Doors! You make hundreds of choices every day: What to eat for breakfast, what route to take to work, which check-out line to get in at the grocery store. The list goes on. Some choices, like the small day-to-day decisions we make, have little effect on the trajectory of our lives. But other choices – where we go to college, who we marry, what job we apply to – can be life altering. With every choice we make, whether big or small, there is a benefit or a consequence. This week we visit with Samson and Delilah. I think we can all remember what choice Samson made. How can we choose to make the right choice/Door? These are my people! So proud of all of them! First year of a Camp designed specifically for Tweens. We broke out of the ordinary into the extraordinary! Thank you to all the parents, kids, and volunteers that made this camp possible and successful. We are now ready to brave the new school year!

BREAK OUT!!! This week we have used clues, riddles, Bible knowledge, and good old fashion muscle power to break candy out of lock boxes, t-shirts out of blocks of ice, found lost lions, and more!!! Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!!!

The last words spoken from Jesus to his followers was the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all the nations. Paul set a great example of this. The Good news had changed his life forever and he was intent on sharing God’s goodness to all people as he went through his missionary journeys. Paul knew that God had called him to a purpose. We each have a purpose and we must be active stewards of the knowledge and faith we have been given by sharing it with others.

This week we talk about serving. We all understand that we go to church to worship and learn more about God, but sometimes we forget that we are also called to serve. We do not only do that at church but in our everyday lives as well. When we show our love for God through our service to others God transforms everyone involved in the process. I challenge you to find a way to serve. This can be through simple kindness to others or volunteering for a project or helping others by sharing God’s love with them. Our story this week is about Aquila and Priscilla. We learned about how they helped Apollos last week. This week take a closer look at how they dedicated their lives to serving others.
