May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🧡

At Connections Homes, we believe mental health matters and no one should have to walk through life alone.

For many young adults aging out of foster care, the journey can come with silent battles, uncertainty, trauma, anxiety, and the pressure of navigating adulthood without consistent support. That’s why creating safe spaces, meaningful connections, and supportive communities is so important.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Let’s continue breaking the stigma, checking on one another, and reminding people that their lives, voices, and stories matter.

May is National Foster Care Month, and we are less than 10 days away from an incredible event making an impact in the lives of young adults aging out of foster care.

Former NFL player and Connections Homes board member Ty Montgomery is using his platform to create change through the First Annual Pro Athlete and Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament on May 15, 2026, at Stanford Golf Course in support of Don’t Go Alone (DGA).

This special day will bring together professional athletes, celebrities, community leaders, and supporters for more than just a game of golf. It is about creating connection, community, and opportunity for young adults transitioning out of foster care.

Ty’s connection to this mission is deeply personal. His mother opened their home to more than 17 foster siblings, giving him firsthand insight into the importance of support, stability, and belonging.

Participants will enjoy:
• A premier golf experience at Stanford Golf Course
• Celebrity and professional athlete pairings
• Networking with community leaders and supporters
• Breakfast, lunch, and an awards celebration

Every year, more than 21,000 young people age out of foster care without permanent family support. Without stable relationships, many face significant barriers as they transition into adulthood.
