💚 A Friendly Reminder 💚
Please remember that the individuals working our distribution are volunteers. They give their time freely to pack food, load vehicles, direct traffic, complete paperwork, and help hundreds of our neighbors receive food.
On distribution days, there may be a wait. We understand that waiting can be frustrating, and we work as quickly and safely as we can. However, rude, disrespectful, or abusive behavior toward our volunteers will not be tolerated.
We are committed to treating every person who comes to us for assistance with kindness, dignity, and respect, and we ask that the same courtesy be shown to the people who are here to serve you. ❤️
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community each month, and we want God’s Food Pantry to remain a welcoming and respectful place for everyone.

Anyone who becomes verbally abusive or disruptive may be asked to leave and may not be served that day.

Kindness costs nothing. Please help us make distribution day a positive experience for everyone. 🙏💙

🧺💙 A Different Kind of Donation That Makes a BIG Difference! 💙🧺
We are so thankful to One Accord Prayer for their generous donation of 50 two pound bags of laundry detergent to God’s Food Pantry!
When we think about helping families in need, food is often the first thing that comes to mind. But everyday necessities like laundry detergent can also take a significant bite out of a household budget. Providing these items allows families to use those dollars toward groceries, utilities, medications, and other necessities.
These 50 bags will be distributed to families through God’s Food Pantry, and we are incredibly grateful to One Accord Prayer for seeing a need and helping us fill it. ❤️
Thank you for thinking beyond the pantry shelf and helping us care for our neighbors in such a practical way. 🙏
Sometimes helping put food on the table also means helping with the expenses around it. 💙

💙 Another wonderful show of community support! 💙
A huge thank you to DeSoto Parish Tax Assessor Haus Cordray and his crew for collecting food for God’s Food Pantry! Bubba Clark & the youth group🥫for collecting food! ❤️
We also want to give a special thank you to Randy Pharris for taking the time to deliver everything to us. 🙌
Every food drive and every donation helps us add more variety to our shelves and provide more for the families and seniors we serve each month.
We are so thankful to have a community that continues to see a need and step up to fill it. Thank you all for supporting God’s Food Pantry and our neighbors! 🙏💙

💙 What to Expect at God’s Food Pantry 🧡
We want to take a moment to explain what you can expect when receiving assistance from God’s Food Pantry.
Our pantry provides supplemental food assistance. The food you receive is intended to help stretch your grocery budget and put a little more food on your table. It is not intended to provide all of the food a household will need for an entire month.
Much of the food we distribute comes from the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport, and we do not know exactly what or how much will be available to us until shortly before our monthly distribution.
Because of this, the amount and variety of food will change from month to month. We cannot guarantee specific foods, brands, quantities, or the same selection each month.
When funds and donations allow, we purchase additional items to help fill the gaps and provide useful staples. Our goal is always to make the very best use of what has been entrusted to us and help as many of our neighbors as possible.

This is also where our community can help! If you are connected with a local church, business, school, organization, or civic group, please consider reaching out and encouraging them to host a food drive for God’s Food Pantry. Even a small food drive can help us add more variety and much needed staples to our monthly distribution.
We are incredibly thankful for every donor, church, business, volunteer, and community partner who makes this ministry possible.
And if you need a little help putting food on the table, please come see us on the 3rd Thursdayof the month. That is exactly why we are here. 💙🙏

💙 A little shoutout to Tammie Ford Averett Tam Tam! 💙
We want to take a moment to recognize our Director, Tammie, for always putting in the work behind the scenes at God’s Food Pantry!
There is so much that goes into keeping this pantry running that most people never see. From coordinating food and preparing for distribution to handling all the little things in between, Tammie is always there getting it done. 💪🥫
Thank you, Tammie, for your dedication, your heart for our community, and all the hours you put into making sure our neighbors are taken care of. We see you, and we appreciate you! ❤️🙏

💙 September Monthly Report | God’s Food Pantry 💙
September was another busy month of serving our community, and we are grateful to share just how many of our neighbors we were able to help:
🥫 19,900 lbs of food distributed
🏠 120 households served
👧 39 children
🧑 88 adults
👵 82 seniors
❤️ 209 neighbors served
Nearly 20,000 pounds of food went back into our community this month! Every pound represents food on someone’s table and one less worry for a neighbor who needed a little help.
Thank you to every volunteer, donor, church, business, and community partner who continues to support God’s Food Pantry. We could not do this without you. 🙏💙

💙 Help Us Make Some Much Needed Improvements at God’s Food Pantry! 💙
Our pantry has been feeling the heat lately! 🥵 With the temperatures inside our building becoming increasingly uncomfortable, we are working toward installing mini split heating and cooling units to provide a more comfortable environment for our volunteers and help us better serve our community.
We have a contractor coming out this week to provide an estimate, and we are asking for your help in making this project possible!
We are also seeking donations to help cover the cost of having a concrete ramp poured at our delivery entrance. This improvement would make unloading and moving our food deliveries much easier and safer for our volunteers. 🚛🥫If you feel led to contribute toward either of these projects, monetary donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated!

Maple Springs Baptist Church chose God's Food Pantry as the charity they would raise money for during their VBS, and they donated $676.00!
When the pastor's wife said, "You can't outgive God," I was ready to have church right there! ❤️
We are so grateful for the love, generosity, and support shown to our pantry and the families we serve. Thank you, Maple Springs Baptist Church, for making a difference in our community. Every dollar helps us continue feeding our neighbors in need.
