A Cause for Paws Logansport

A Cause for Paws Logansport We are a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. We have no shelter of our own, so we foster all of our animals in our own homes. We also require a photo ID.

Our Adoption Process...
If you see a cat or dog that interests you on our web page, give us a call @ 574-753-5575..we can then set up a day and time for you to meet the pets in person. All of our animals are looking for forever homes and lifetime companionship. Our adoption fees are $100 for cats and $150 and up for dogs. The adoption fees help offset the cost of medical care for the animals. When

you adopt from us you are assured that your new pet is healthy, spayed/neutered and up to date on all their shots. When you decide to adopt a pet, one of our trained volunteers will talk with you and assist you in completing an adoption application. We ask about your pet history, living situation and a variety of other questions that help us determine if you are a suitable forever home. We may also request (and check) personal references. While it may seem that we ask a lot of questions, it's only to protect the best interests of your potential pet (and you!). Please understand that many of these animals have been abandoned by previous owners. We never want to put these sweet animals through that again, so we work very hard to make sure that any new pet-owner relationship is going to be loving, stable and forever, and is a perfect match for both you and your potential pet! But before you adopt, think carefully about your decision. Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment, both for you and the pet. Dogs and cats can live up to (and even beyond) 20 years. Your new pet will form a very deep bond with you. Remember that while you have your friends, family and the outside world, your pet has only you, and terminating your relationship with your pet for any reason is emotionally devastating to your pet. Of course, a relationship with a pet is a wonderful, enriching experience, both for you and the pet. Because almost all of our pets have been relinquished by previous owners or found as strays, we want to make sure that you and your potential pet are a match. EMAIL us at [email protected].... please be sure to put ACFP adoption questions in heading.

We are sharing the following information for someone who contacted us looking for help rehoming Moose. He is not a Cause for Paws dog, we are just sharing his information in hopes of helping his current owners find him a new home. Please call 574-398-7333 for any information about Moose and to set up meetings.

Hi, I’m Moose! I am a distinguished gentleman looking for a patient, loving home where I can be your ultimate sidekick.
🐾 About Me
• Name: Moose
• Age: 8+ years young
• NEUTERED- I do need my vaccines updated
• Breed: Pitbull Mix
• Status: Certified Good Boy & Genius
🎓 My Impressive Skill List
I am incredibly smart and love to show off what I know! I can do:
• Sit
• Shake
• Speak
• High Five
• Lay Down
• Open Freezer Drawers: Yes, really! I am clever enough to open them, so you might need a child lock.
🛋️ Furniture & Snuggle Rules
• Couches & Beds: I am allowed on the furniture in my current home. If you tell me to get down, I will, even if I don't want to.
• Sleepy Sneaks: Fair warning—I might sneak back up while you are sleeping for some late night cuddles!
🥎 My Ultimate Must-Haves
• The Ball: This is my pacifier. I must have it at all times. Please keep a backup on hand!
• Chew Toys: I absolutely love my bones and sturdy toys.
• Human Presence: I love my humans so much that being alone is really hard for me.
💔 My Separation Anxiety Details
I have severe separation anxiety, and I want to be completely honest about what I need:
• Medication: I have tried anxiety medication before, but it did not help me.

• Kennels: I can easily break out of regular wire kennels. I have not been crated since breaking my last one. If you must crate me, you will need a heavy-duty, indestructible kennel.

• Behaviors: In my current home, If I am locked up while away from my people(while they are gone from the home), I will scratch at doors or drywall until I can get to where I want to be.*If you just don't want me in your bedroom at night and close the door, I will sleep by myself if I have to. I need a family who can manage this and keep me safe.
*If you have a tall fenced in yard and are comfortable with a collar activated dog door, he may adjust better to your absence, we haven't done this, but I do think he would benefit from having the distraction of the outdoors at his discretion.
🏡 My Ideal Family
• Kids: I live with a 2-year-old and a 7-month-old now. I am good with them, but I prefer a home with older kids. Toddlers don't always understand that when I am sleeping, I need my space.
• Dogs: I haven't lived with another dog in a long time. I have a neighbor dog friend I don't mind. I could do well with a canine sibling after a slow, proper introduction.

• Cats: No cats for me, please! They are not my style.
🛋️ My Daily Routine
When my people are around, I am the perfect mix of active and lazy. I still love to play with my toys, but I am also a professional couch potato. If you work from home, are retired, or have a quiet, present household where I can snooze right next to you, I will pay you back in endless love.

If you have any questions please contact my humans, they love me dearly and want to find me the right home, even if that's not with them.
