Dusty the Dirty Bird came by to check on the Logan Lions tonight! Good food, great companionship, and the game got exciting in the last couple of innings. Beautiful fireworks capped off another great visit to Go-Mart Ballpark!

What a great time we had tonight at the Logan-Man football game. The stands were full of fans from both schools and it was great to hear the LHS Marching Wildcats playing “It’s Logan High”!

Lion Roger will be on the Main Street side of the courthouse from 11:30 to 1:30 TODAY, selling duck race tickets and sharing overall happiness! Come on down. Your ticket enters you into the race, where the winning duck’s sponsor gets $1,000.00. Every ticket helps us buy glasses for low-income Logan Countians.

Can’t make it to the Courthouse today? We’ll be at the Logan-Man football game tomorrow, also selling duck race tickets, and awarding trophies to the winning team and stand-out players.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Dolly Parton's passing. We reflect on the day she visited West Virginia—August 9, 2022—to celebrate access to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in all 55 counties. Because of this program, more than 3 million books have been given to West Virginia children. 📖

Dolly was an advocate for early literacy and fostering a love of reading. 📚

1. On Wednesday, August 26, Lions will be on the Main Street side of the Logan County Courthouse from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

2. On Thursday, August 27, we will be selling duck race tickets at the Lions Bowl, the annual football game between Logan High and Man High. With our fellow Lions from the Lions Club of Man, we’ll be recognizing the outstanding players from each team.

Of course, you can still purchase your tickets online, which is especially convenient for our native Logan Countians who have moved away.

Would you like to purchase your duck race ticket in person? There are two opportunities coming up where you can do just that! Here’s a message from Lion Roger Perry.

“I will be “returning to the bench” on Wednesday August 26th, not to decide cases in the courtroom but to sell tickets for the 23rd Logan Lions Club Duck race. I will be across from the Coalfield Jamboree from 11:30am until about 1:30pm. There are some really fast ducks available for sponsorship. I look forward to selling some tickets and visiting with friends.”

The Logan Lions will also be set up at the Logan-Man football game on Thursday, August 27.

The race is Saturday, September 19, so don’t hesitate. Get your ducks in training now and help us help low-income Logan Countians with vision issues. All proceeds, after payment of the $1,000.00 cash prize, goes to the Logan Lions Club Charity Fund.
