Thanks to Sugar House Review, Logan Library, the USU English Department, and Caffe Ibis. Founded in 2005, Helicon West is a lively performance venue for the written word based in Logan, Utah, USA. Anyone is invited to read up to seven minutes of original writing during our uncensored open-mic, alongside featured readers of local, state, and national prominence. Helicon West is made possible with a

ssistance from Sugar House Review, the Logan Library, the USU Department of English, and Caffe Ibis. Readings are held on most second and fourth Thursdays during the USU academic year. Like this page for info about upcoming events and guest readers. Past guest readers have included Dinty Moore, Katherine Coles, Lance Larsen, Star Coulbrooke, Jennifer Sinor, Michael Sowder, Rob Carney, and many, many others. Because Helicon West is also an diverse artistic community, it's a great way to connect with other writers, test-drive your writing, and find your literary voice.

They will be in collaboration with Stokes Nature Center’s The Big Read, inspired by You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World edited by Ada Limon. Local poets Isaac Timm & Naomi Timm will be our featured readers on Thu, Oct 23 at 7:00 PM in Logan Library's Community Room. They'll be reading from and responding to Isaac's new collection, Aquifer, before an open-mic period where anyone is welcome to read. Free Caffe Ibis coffee will be available.
