Meet LOUIS!

Louis may seem quiet and timid, but once you get to know him, you'll see his humor and quick wit shine through! He transitioned to the L.E.A.D. area a few years ago and really enjoys being a part of their program. He loves being with his friends and going out into the community.

In his free time, you'll find him riding his bike, going fishing, or watching his favorite TV shows.

Louis is one of a kind and we're happy he is a part of our CETC family!

It's time for our first CLIENT HIGHLIGHT from the L.E.A.D. area!

This is Nate! One of Nate's favorite parts of being in L.E.A.D. is the amazing staff he gets to work with. He appreciates that they take the time to listen and get to know him, and that they teach him new things everyday. He really enjoys the variety of classes offered that he can attend, both in his area and throughout CETC. Cooking classes are one of his favorites!

Exploring the community is another important part of Nate's day-to-day activities. He loves going bowling and down the street to Maverik to get a treat!

See if you can guess some of Nate's favorite things based on the following emojis....

⚽️🥤🎟️🎤👾🕺🍕

You're awesome, Nate! You make CETC a better place.

L.E.A.D. is in the spotlight this month at CETC! In this area, you will find one of their main supports to be The Wellness Wheel. Their wheels have 4 main points of focus: Physical Health, Emotional/Social Health, Community Access, and Cognitive Training. Clients choose how they fill their wheel so that the area is HCBS-compliant and the clients are able to build independence. Here is an excerpt from the Wellness Wheel: "Think about your life as a big circle — a wheel, a pizza, whatever round shape that can be sliced into segments. Dividing this circle into several pieces—with each piece representing the different elements of your well being mentioned above—can help paint a picture of where things are going great in your world and where you can afford to put a little attention. Imagine each segment as being full: full of color, full of energy and evenly distributed around the wheel. If this wheel is going to run well: it’s balanced, true and strong. Now imagine segments of the wheel are missing, or not fully inflated. That makes for a less stable, less smooth-rolling wheel. When you consider that each of these components makes up a full picture of wellness, it’s clear that having more rounded out, fuller segments makes for a healthier and happier existence." This helps towards their mission of L.E.A.D. - Lasting Education and Development. Working on their wheels helps the clients have a full, complete life that also encourages growth. That being said, they also love to party... If you smell popcorn, it is most likely coming from the L.E.A.D. area!

The Family Services department is in the spotlight this month! We support the clients and their families to have the support needed to give clients the best care and avoid care-giver burnout:

RESPITE – provides temporary relief from the daily routine of caring for a family member with a disability. Respite support ranges from a few hours to overnight, based on what the needs are of the client and their family.

SUPPORTED LIVING – provides assistance, training and support for clients who live with their families, in their own home or in an apartment. Activities are goal-related and can include meal preparation, routine household care, activities of daily living, and community activities.

HOST HOME – provides a long-term family residential setting that supports the client with daily living activities and monitors their health and safety needs.

A big focus of this department is providing care and supervision to our clients, while respecting their independence, promoting freedom of choice, and maintaining their dignity.
