Friends of 700 Clark Street We are the Friends of the Residents and Staff of 700 Clark Street, otherwise known as the “Friends of 700 Clark Street” for short.

Our group was founded in 2018 with a mission to protect monetary donations that had been gifted to the Good Samaritan Nursing home. After the building was sold to another entity, a group of dedicated people, like Patty Morter, wanted to ensure that those funds remained available to the residents and staff. The group went through the legal effort to become a 501c3 in 2019 to maintain as much of the

money donated to provide the “More” to those living and working at 700 Clark Street. What’s the “More” you may be asking yourself. Well, the easy explanation is this. The Nursing Home provides all the necessary care to keep our residents safe and well cared for all, the while providing a continued sense of dignity. As the Friends of 700 Clark Street, we provide the “more” to enhance their lives on a daily basis. Since it’s founding, our group has provided things like an electronic therapy cat, a virtual reality headset, canopies for outdoor enjoyment, a snow cone and popcorn machine, thank you luncheons for the staff, bus rides for outings, a portable sound system, as well as an in-house Gift Shop, just to name a few.

At Dove Healthcare Lodi, residents and families gathered today for an annual Easter egg hunt that has become a favorite tradition in the community.

GOAL MET!!! The Rideabout has been ordered and is in the conversion process!! THANK YOU to everyone who donated to this very worthy cause! We can do great things with the help of our friends and community! Stay tuned for a delivery date.

Our next project will be wheelchair accessible planting gardens! Donations are always welcome!

Our group continues to work to provide the “More” for the Residents of 700 Clark Street, our local Nursing facility. My dear Friend Susie Wimmer had a dream a few years ago to provide a handicap accessible golf cart to enrich the lives of the Residents. Josie, the director of Activities at Dove Healthcare has led the charge along with support from our group doing what we can to fundraise. The Golf Cart is called a Rideabout, made by PHED Mobility out of Elkhart, IN. The residents had a meeting with Susie and came up with a name that speaks to what this golf cart will mean to them, “The Sights and Sounds of Freedom”.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are pleased to report significant progress in reaching our goal to purchase a Rideabout. Currently, we are less than $2,000 from reaching our target of $23,000. Donations can be made to Friends of the Residents and Staff of 700 Clark Street. Lodi, you’re making a difference! Together, we’re helping bring more freedom, fun, and fresh air to the residents of Dove Healthcare!
🌟 Exciting News, Friends! 🌟
We’re almost halfway to our goal! 🎉
Our project — The Sights and Sounds of Freedom — is raising funds for a Rideabout Accessible Golf Cart for the residents of Dove Healthcare (Lodi). This special cart will give residents the chance to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and experience more freedom and connection. 💙
Our goal: $22,750
Current total: $10,850! 🙌
A huge shoutout to Josie and her amazing team at Dove, who’ve raised nearly $6,000, plus generous donations from Jeff Morter and Jim Mitchell!
And a big thank-you to the Lodi Area Community Endowment (LACE) for a wonderful grant that brought us so close to the halfway mark! 💫
We’re waiting to hear back on another grant to close out the year strong — but if you’d like to support this very worthy cause, we would be so grateful! Every dollar helps bring this dream closer for our residents. ❤️
