Homeschoolers Outdoor Education: Bats

Homeschoolers have the opportunity to attend natural science classes that take place in the classroom and outdoors. Did you know bats are excellent parents? Or that bats hibernate all winter long? Come and learn all about these insect loving mammals. Sign in will begin 15 minutes before the listed program start time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Ages 7 to 12. **Register by October 19. While vampires may be the work of fiction, there are many hematophagous animals out in nature. Join us for a hike through the woods to learn about ticks, leeches, and other bloodsuckers. Be sure to wear your bug spray! All ages are welcome. No registration is required. Free.

Creature Feature: Spiders

Join us as we learn about spiders such as orb weavers, wolf spiders, and nursery web spiders. After an inside presentation, we’ll take a hike around Oenslager Nature Center to look for some of these arachnids. Learn about how spiders live, where they live, and the important role these animals play in our environment. All ages are welcome. No registration is required. Free.
