The Compassionate Friends of Stanly County We are open to any family that has lost a child of any age at any time from any cause. We offer support & share experiences to help others move forward.

The Compassionate Friends of Stanly County is a group of parents and other family members who have lost children. We are different ages, our children were different ages when we lost them and we lost them because of different reasons, but our common bond is that we are parents who have lost our children. We don't judge each other, we support each other. We share our personal experiences at our own pace to help others get through their grief. We learn from each other that we are normal and that someone does understand and is not afraid to let us talk about our children. It is our safe place to laugh, cry, question, explain, share or be quiet. We welcome new members with open arms and allow participation at the individuals preferred pace. There is never a charge or obligation. We are the people who say, "I know" and you know we mean it.

Dear Friends,

Today, on National Bereaved Parents Day, we come together to honor and remember the precious lives of our children who are no longer with us. This day is a poignant reminder of the love we hold in our hearts, a love that endures beyond the pain and sorrow of loss.

For all of us, every day carries the weight of our grief, but today we acknowledge that weight collectively. We recognize the profound impact our children have had on our lives and the indelible mark they have left on our hearts.

Grief is a journey that we navigate one step at a time. It’s a journey filled with memories that bring both tears and smiles. As we reflect on the beautiful moments we shared with our children, let us also find strength in our community of bereaved parents. We understand each other in ways that others cannot, and in that understanding, we find solace and support.

On this day, let us light a candle, share a story, or simply sit in quiet remembrance. Let us honor our children by living lives that carry forward their love and their light. Though they are no longer physically with us, their spirits continue to inspire and guide us every day.

We are here for you, and we walk this path together. Let’s hold each other up and find comfort in the shared bonds of love and loss. Today, and every day, we remember and honor our beloved children.

With all our love and support,

Bereaved Parents of the USA

For many of us who grieve loved ones, music plays a big part in our grief journey...one reason is that when we hear certain songs they do bring back a myriad of memories - and a great deal of emotions to go with it. WHAT SONG DOES THIS FOR YOU WHEN YOU HEAR IT? Please share with us by responding to this meme.

Every year on the first Sunday in May, International Bereaved Mother’s Day honors mothers who have lost a child. It’s also a day to recognize women who cannot be a mother due to infertility or other health reasons. One of the hardest days for many women around the world is Mother’s Day.

All of the bereaved moms in The Compassionate Friends (TCF) will be keeping each other in our thoughts on International Bereaved Mother's Day, as we remember the mothers, moms, mommies, mums, and all whose child or children are gone too soon. Always remember that once you are a mother, you are forever a mother...

To those who observe Easter, the Board of Directors and the Staff of The Compassionate Friends [TCF] are thinking of you and your families who are missing your child(ren), sibling(s), and/or grandchild(ren) on this holiday for many people in TCF. If memories of Easter's of the past are of comfort to you, may you find ones that bring you peace and perhaps even smiles. No matter what you do or do not today, know that you are in all of our hearts today ... and every day.

Though we can't imagine it will ever happen, the time will come (a different length of time for each of us) when the dark, sorrowful, and unspeakable memories of our child(rens), sibling(s), and/or grandchild(rens) death will be replaced with mostly memories of the love and laughter that we shared in life.

As grievers often hear, we can't go over or under or around our grief. We have to go straight through it., and make the work of grief an essential part of our grieving process. Being a part of The Compassionate Friends (TCF) Chapter Meetings, joining any of the numerous TCF private Facebook groups, and reading resources and articles in the TCF National Website Blog, to name only a few, are beneficial to your grief work after the loss of your child(ren), sibling(s) and/or grandchild(ren).
