We were informed that this past Saturday, September 27, an incident occurred on the grounds involving a group of individuals carving into our trees. A visitor noticed this and asked them to stop, but unfortunately, they did not.

If you were on the grounds that day and witnessed anything, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Please contact us at 516-801-1458 — even the smallest detail can help.

To the visitor who stepped in — THANK YOU! It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for your courage and care for Bailey Arboretum. 💚

As a reminder, vandalism of any kind, including carving into our trees, will not be tolerated and is considered a crime punishable by law.

Together, we can protect and preserve the Arboretum for generations to come. 🌿

We will be closed Thursday October 2 to repair a leaking water line underneath our entrance road.

The restrooms will be closed October 4 - 5. Please plan accordingly.

We strive to offer a sanctuary of tranquility, beauty, and safety for everyone to enjoy and connect with the natural world in a welcoming environment for both visitors and staff. Recently, we've noticed a significant increase in our guidelines being disregarded and damage to the property caused by acts of vandalism. As a reminder to all visitors, please adhere to our guidelines so we can all continue to enjoy.

* Hours: 9am-5pm
* All children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
* Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
* Dogs must be leashed at all times and waste picked up.
* All professional photography requires a permit.
* Group functions are not permitted at any given time.
* Alcohol is not permitted.
* Fishing is not permitted.
* No recreational sports (baseball, soccer, football, etc)
* Open fires and barbecuing is not permitted.
* No bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc.
* Please do not pick flowers and plants so others can enjoy them. Help care for our wonderful trees by not climbing or hanging on them. And please do not step or play in garden beds or water features.

Thank you for your respect and dedication to preserving this beautiful space for future generations. Your actions today help to maintain the balance and harmony that define this area. Let us continue to work hand in hand, fostering a spirit of community and care.
