Animal Rights Awareness Week 🐾

This week is a reminder that every animal deserves compassion, respect, and proper care. Whether they are wild animals, farm animals, pets, or animals in human care, all animals rely on us to make responsible choices that support their well-being.

At our facility, we are committed to providing high-quality care, enrichment, proper nutrition, and opportunities for our animals to thrive every day. Animal welfare isn’t just something we celebrate this week, it’s something we work toward year-round.

Come out and show the animals your support this week! Whether you donate, volunteer, or simply visit! Every bit of support helps us provide the best possible care and quality of life for the animals who call our sanctuary home.💚

Not every rescued animal can return to the wild, but when it happens, it’s a huge conservation victory!!

Recently, conservationists in India reached a major milestone when a rehabilitated tiger was fitted with a radio collar and prepared for release back into the wild as part of Rajasthan’s first scientific tiger rewilding project!

It’s a major conservation milestone and highlights how rehabilitation can sometimes give animals a second chance at life in their natural habitat!🌿

Fun Fact - Tigers are often called an umbrella species. By protecting tiger habitat, we also protect thousands of other plants and animals that share the same ecosystem!🐅

What Am I Wednesday Reveal! 🎉

It’s Kenya the rhesus macaque!

Rhesus macaques are incredibly intelligent animals! They live in large family groups and communicate through a variety of sounds and facial expressions!

One fact that surprises many people is that rhesus macaques are excellent swimmers! Unlike many primates, they don’t always avoid water and can swim quite well when needed!

Can you spot the tiger, or is his camouflage just too good? 😂

Believe it or not, a tiger’s orange coat actually helps it blend into its environment! Most of their prey species are red-green colorblind, causing tigers to appear more greenish-brown among forests and tall grasses. Their stripes also help break up their outline, making it much harder to recognize the shape of a large predator hiding in plain sight.

So although we can clearly see a huge orange kitty, Golden’s camouflage is actually doing exactly what it’s supposed to do! 🌿🐯👀
