SAD NEWS FOR PENDLETON FARM & HOME DAYS

Pendleton Farm and Home Days began back in August to plan for this year’s event. We had an incredible outpouring of support from volunteers old and new and were very excited to move forward. We continued working with the town to coordinate what would be needed regarding infrastructure requirements at the town park. There were very positive indications that we had the town’s support in this community endeavor. However, when the final budget was released in November, there were zero dollars allocated on the line for Pendleton Farm and Home Days. It was decided that without the support of the town, we should cancel the event for this year.

Unexpectedly, the Tonawandas Sportsmen’s Club very graciously made the generous offer to use their grounds for the event. We immediately toured the property and scheduled a meeting with their board to answer any questions that they had. Their board enthusiastically responded the next day with their official invitation to host Pendleton Farm and Home Days. Regrettably, we soon found out that their insurer was not willing to allow this event due to potential liability issues. Sadly, the TSC had no choice but to decline hosting the event.

Unfortunately, we have no choice but to announce that Pendleton Farm and Home Days will not be happening this year.

Exciting news! Pendleton Farm and Home Days 2024 is a GO!!

August 16th and 17th! Save the date!

We are so excited to have all of you considering what role you wish to play in this year's event!

Our first meeting will be THIS MONDAY Oct 16th at 6:30pm. Moving forward meetings will be the 3rd Monday's of the month.

NEW MEETING LOCATION The Tonawanda Sportsman Club on Killian.

Please come out, hear about this year's event, discuss volunteer opportunities, share your thoughts and feelings for 2024 and get excited with us! And bring a friend!

Hey Friends!

When we started Pendleton Farm and Home Days we envisioned a yearly event that would become a staple in our community. Each year we sought growth, more vendors, different activities, more fun, new rides, different bands and more and more new faces. And we have seen the growth we hoped for! As you can imagine, it takes a year's worth of planning and over 30 dedicated volunteers to make PFHD happen each year. While it seems like too large of a task, it's such a joy to grow friendships and a lasting connection as we work together and divide the work into smaller pieces.

As we started planning for 2023 we encountered a problem. As I mentioned, we need a team of roughly 30 volunteers each year. These men and women work alongside a team of committee chairs to make it happen. These volunteers give of their time all year round and attend a monthly planning meeting. This year when we sat down for our first meeting we had 7 volunteers. This is a shortfall too large for us to fill in on our own and as such, sadly we are not going to be able to enjoy PFHD 2023.

At this point, we are hopeful that PFHD 2024 will go on as planned, August 16th and 17th 2024. But in order for us to even start to plan, we need a committed team of 30+ volunteers. We need to know now that you wish to help. We need to know we have a team ready to jump in and start planning in September 2023.

We as a committee are not ready to see this event gone forever, and the feedback we receive each year is that you are not willing to see it go either. Well then, friends, we need you! We need you to come alongside us and help make this happen. Please let us know through email that you are committed to joining us in September. Together, PFHD 2024 will be better than ever, and we can't wait!
