With the end of the 2026 season, we thought why not have a fun recap of all we did! This year we had 22 cruises; 4 rained out cruises, 5 LIVE performances, 5 other events in our community, and about 20 organizations, clubs, businesses, etc!
Lakeview Animal Sanctuary, LinkedbyVega, Vega Sisters Loom Bracelets, Citizens‘ Climate Lobby, Firstnet by AT&T, Lockport Community Television, Walsh Duffiet Insurance, Be like Bob-Swing Dance Party, Lockport Area Soapbox Derby, Lockport Robotics The Warlocks FIRST Team 1507, Newfane Lions Club, New York State Department of Veterans' Services, Golf Against Cancer, RIGHT WING Naturals, Newfane American Legion Post 873, and the Buffalo Veterans Center all came down throughout the cruise season.
We also can’t forget the Lockport Fire Department who used Wendville Fire Company’s Fire Safety Trailer to teach our community about Fire safety. Not only did we have the Lockport Fire Department, but Terry’s Corners Vol. Fire Co., Inc, Hartland Volunteer Fire Company, and South Lockport Fire Co,. Inc brought down some of their rigs as well!
This year we had The Breakout Band, Cold Shot Trio, Lockport Community Band, Hot Country Liners Dance Team, and the King himself- Terry Buchwald! Not to mention, Rick Mann really put on a show every cruise night!
While we may be know for our weekly cruises, this year we got to be apart of many other events in our community. We returned to Main St for the Optimist Club of Lockport’s 50th Craft Festival, had the privilege of entering the 150 year old historic Ida Fritz Park in Lockport in Bloom, and we were involved with the Memorial Day Parade and the Fourth of July Parade!
Our club members work very hard to put on each cruise every week, but we also can’t forget all the behind the scenes work that is done. From our club members, other volunteers, Caynon Wood (Multi-Purpose Service 716-913-4684) with his friend Eli, and Kitty Fogle who all worked hard to restore the stone garden back to its glory.
We also owe a huge thank you to the Lockport Common Council and mayor John Lombardi for allowing us the use of Ida Fritz! And we can’t forget the Lockport Streets Department and City’s Parks Department who work diligently every Monday to prepare the park from cutting grass to dropping off barricades and the stage. Their unseen labor is essential to our cruises! Oh and we can’t forget the Lockport Police Department who came down to almost every cruise this year!
We hope everyone enjoyed the cruises as much as we did. We are proud to provide our community with FUN, FAMILY-oriented, FREE events all Summer and look forward to seeing everyone next year!
