My Sister’s Keeper ATX We turn Victims of Domestic Violence into Survivors!

06/14/2026

🚨 Urgent Support Needed for a Survivor and Her Baby 🚨

Last night, a young mother reached out to us after fleeing a domestic violence situation. Thanks to the support of our community, we were able to get her and her baby into a safe hotel room. Now, we need your help with the next step of her journey.

She is trying to reunite with her family and rebuild her life in a safe environment. The cost of transportation for her and her baby to get home is $479, and we are asking our village to come together once again.

No amount is too small. Every dollar brings this mother and her child one step closer to safety, stability, and a fresh start.

💜 Goal: $479
✈️ Purpose: Transportation for a domestic violence survivor and her baby to return home safely.

🚨 Community Need Alert 🚨

We have a mom of 4 currently staying at Sarah’s Place who is working hard to get back on her feet, but she’s hit a setback. Her vehicle needs a new battery so she can continue getting her children where they need to go and make it to appointments and work.

The battery costs $295, and we are asking our village to help if you can.

No donation is too small. Every dollar gets us closer to helping this mom maintain her independence and stability for her family. ❤️

If you would like to help, donations can be sent to:

💚 Cash App: $SistersKeeperATX
💚 Venmo:
💚 Zelle keeperatx1234
💚 Apple Pay: (512) 549-0685

Please put “Battery” in the memo.

Thank you for always showing up for our families when they need it most. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for ours. 🙏🏾❤️

My Sister’s Keeper ATX
Weekly Impact Report
Week of May 2026

This week at My Sister’s Keeper ATX was filled with moments of hope, transition, growth, and grief. As always, our mission remained centered on showing up for women, children, and families in our community with compassion and consistency.

Housing & Stabilization Updates

* Successfully moved two women into housing, helping them take important steps toward stability, safety, and a fresh start.
* Completed four housing assessments, continuing our work to connect vulnerable individuals and families with pathways toward shelter and permanent housing opportunities.
* Welcomed a precious 8-week-old baby into the Sarah’s Place village, expanding our community of care and support. We remain committed to creating safe, nurturing spaces where mothers and children can heal and thrive together.

Education & Milestones

* Celebrated one of our community members graduating from college. Milestones like these remind us that with support, determination, and community, barriers can be broken and dreams can be achieved. We are incredibly proud and honored to witness these victories.

In Loving Memory: Sherrell Walker

This week our organization also experienced tremendous heartbreak.

We lost a client who became much more than a client. Sherrell Walker became family. She became a daughter. She was loved deeply by many and touched countless lives during her journey.

Sherrell’s story reminds us why this work matters. Behind every assessment, every outreach visit, every resource connection, and every late-night phone call is a human being deserving of love, dignity, and unwavering support.

This loss weighs heavily on our hearts. We mourn with her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We honor Sherrell by continuing to fight harder, love deeper, and advocate louder for those who often feel unseen.

Sherrell, you will forever remain part of the My Sister’s Keeper ATX family.

“Some people enter your life and leave footprints so deep on your heart that they remain forever.”

As we move into another week, we carry both gratitude and grief, while remaining committed to showing up for our community, one person, one family, and one story at a time.
