Meet the Performers Part 4: Monica Monáe Davenport

Monica Monáe Davenport was born and raised in Chicago, where she grew up dancing and singing. After moving to Texas, she fell in love with the art of DRAG and began her career in 2017. Monica made her drag debut in 2018 at Showstopper, then competed in Drag Class, making the top 3, and then began competing in pageants. She is a former: Miss Merry Christmas ‘20, Miss Gay Austin USofA Newcomer ‘22, Miss Austin Pride ‘23, Miss Let’s Be Honest Pride ‘24, Miss Gay San Antonio USofA Newcomer ‘25, and Miss Gay Texas USofA Newcomer ‘25, and she is the current reigning Miss Gay River City USofA Newcomer ‘23. Monica enjoys performing and making people happy through dancing and self-expression. She is a hairstylist by day who loves working with people in the LGBTQIA+ community. She tries to bring out different sides of herself, so you never know what you’re gonna get. You can catch her gracing the many stages all over Austin and beyond.

Meet the Performers Part 3: Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great is an international award-winning aerialist, classically trained dancer, and Drag King based in Austin, Texas, with over 31 years of live performance experience! He’s known for performing on aerial apparatuses like the Lyra (aerial hoop), pole, aerial chains, the silk hammock, and his acrobatic chair. He has been making waves as a Drag King since 2015, establishing shows in Austin that carve out space specifically for Kings and underrepresented entertainers. He’s known for breaking the mold as the first trans man to win Mister Austin Pride and Mr. Austin Entertainer of the Year! Alexander the Great made history again, competing on the world’s first reality TV competition for Drag Kings, “King of Drag” presented by ELF Cosmetics on RevryTV! Rolled in all the trappings of old Hollywood glamor, Selma B***y is a triple threat: a chanteuse, a classically trained dancer, and full of enough outrageous stories that she may as well be an actress. All the shapeshifting of Selma B***y represents classic female impersonation at its finest. Selma has steered the likes of many shows as an outrageous Femmcee, including Dallas All-Con, The Boiz of Austin, Red Hots Burlesque, the International Smoky Mountain Burlesque Festival, and serves as the resident host of the world-famous Jigglewatts Burlesque r***e. Selma is the creator of Barnaby’s Babes, The F Show, the Phishnets; San Francisco’s only all-drag chorus line, Barnaby’s Boys and Brunch, and has performed in 18 US States, 13 Countries, and over 50 burlesque, drag, and circus festivals worldwide. 36-24-36 The numbers don’t lie, and as always, standard rates apply for Selma B***y.

Meet the Performers Part 1:
Brigitte Bandit is a drag queen based in Austin, TX. Known as the Dolly of ATX, Brigitte has been voted Best Drag Performer and Best Activist in The Austin Chronicle Best of Austin 2024 and 2025. She is a cast member at Oilcan Harry’s, the Coconut Club, and hosts Drag Storytimes. Brigitte’s advocacy work for the LGBTQIA+ community includes speaking at the Texas Capitol, being a plaintiff in the successful lawsuit with the ACLU that blocked the Texas drag ban from taking effect, lobbying for federal LGBTQIA+ protections at the U.S. Capitol, and she currently serves on the City of Austin LGBTQIA+ Quality of Life Commission.
