Legacy Initiatives is a non-profit community development organization focused on improving the community of De Queen, Arkansas and the surrounding areas of Southwest Arkansas through community development initiatives and programs. We are partnered with the UAPB Minority Initiative Sub-Recipient Grant Office to reduce the negative effects of to***co on residents in Hempstead, Howard, Little River,

Miller and Sevier Counties. We have also partnered with the Department of Heritage for historic preservation of a community landmark in our efforts to create a Regional Rural Art Center known as Fusion.

Reject Smoking Airport!
This not only affects those who live in the area. But everyone who travels through the DTW airport!

DTW is Michigan’s first impression — and 87% of guests prefer a smoke-free hospitality environment.

Building a cigar lounge in McNamara Terminal would undermine Michigan’s commitment to clean air. Take a stand today: https://bit.ly/3H1KJwJ

A decade ago this began as a dream of Dr. Jason Lofton’s. He attended meetings, wrote grants, and pursued the dream. Chad Gallagher funded the initial legal expenses that led to our signing the first agreement with the Corp of Engineers to begin the trail. After securing the first grants and winning a national planning opportunity, the project was helped tremendously as a member of Lofton’s staff, Eric Smith, began the long, tedious work on actually building the trial off. Since that time, so many more have joined the effort and made this dream come true. Congrats to all!
