Thursday, November 12 is Watercolor Paint Night Fundraiser

Our member artist will be leading students with her talent to paint a festive holiday design. Enjoy a few hours of creativity along with snacks and beverages starting at 5:30 PM. Seating will be limited to 20 and will include all paint supplies. The registration flyer with signup details will be posted soon.

Our November 5 General Meeting of Members is open to members and all interested community. The election for 2027 Board of Directors will take place along with updates of planned activities. Interested? Find out how you can support Lockeford's Park.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park,

Our next board meeting of the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park is Thursday, October 1 at 6 PM at the Lockeford Community Center. Our nominating committee will be presenting the candidates for the 2027 directors. If you are interested in joining the board, it is not too late; come to the meeting or contact us by email.

Who would be interested in a watercolor paint night? A few early evening hours out for fun with all supplies provided. Just register and come for art, light snacks and warm drinks; think fall weather around the corner. We are firming up the details.

Unfortunately, we have hit some scheduling difficulties trying to coordinate a pizza night fundraiser. Any other restaurant ideas are welcome, especially something new for local fundraisers.

Enjoy this last bit of summer at the Lockeford Memorial Park.

Attendance at a monthly board meetings for 1 hour each and 1 annual meeting of members and the public.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park,

Our next board meeting of the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park is Thursday, September 3 at 6 PM at the Lockeford Community Center. Members are always welcome to attend. Sept. is the time of year that we form a nominating committee to seek members to serve as directors for the 2027 year. Maybe this is something you are interested in but don't know what it would entail. It is not difficult, doesn't take too much time and you get to meet good people who share like interests. Come to a meeting or email and find out more details.

We are still trying to coordinate a pizza night fundraiser-stay tuned. Meanwhile, any ideas for events are welcome; especially something new. Meals and fairs are always fun but thinking outside the box could bring a local pleaser. On that note; you probably noticed we have not advertised our vendor fair for this fall. We decided to put it on hold for this year and revisit it later.

One local event that we help with is the Hospice of San Joaquin Tree of Lights which will be on Saturday, December 5 at the soon to be F&M Bank location (formerly Wells Fargo). We will be coordinating the Cowboy Christmas Boutique again. We hope to have a few volunteers for a booth to offer coffee and have updates on the Park to share. Let us know if you can help.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park,

The next board meeting of the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park is Thursday, August 6 at 6 PM at the Lockeford Community Center. Members are always welcome to attend.

Here are some photos of the donations made in 2026 for Park improvements: A blue oak tree, nine shrubs and a metal handrail, which matched the current one perfectly. Inside the Community Center, the upholstery was cleaned and treated as it gets a lot of use due to the many rentals. We support the District as needs arise and look forward to the Park development plans.

We are still working on a pizza night or other similar take home fundraiser. If you have any other ideas for fundraising or community events, let us know. Our website is lockefordpark.weebly.com.

The Hospice of San Joaquin will be holding their Tree of Lights event in Lockeford on Saturday, December 5. Once again, the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park are joining with the Clements Lockeford Lions Club and the Clements Community Church to be the local hosts of this popular event and the Cowboy Christmas Boutique. If we want to host a Friends' information and vendor table as in the past; the board will need a few volunteers to help make this happen. Contact us if interested.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park,

The next board meeting of the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park is POSTPONED UNTIL THURSDAY, JULY 9 at the Lockeford Community Center due to board members' schedule and the 4th of July holiday weekend. Reminder that all members are always welcome to attend.

You may notice that our monetary and equipment donations for the Park and Community Center are generally slow. Why? We are waiting for the installation of Park improvements currently in planning by the District to best determine our assistance. Meanwhile, we encourage your ideas for fundraising and community events which would bring more awareness of our local Park. Reach out on our website lockefordpark.weebly.com.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park,

The next board meeting of the Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park is Thursday, June 4 at 6 PM at the Lockeford Community Center. All members are always welcome to attend.

We are working with Stratton's Pizzeria to host a fundraiser pizza night this summer. This new business in Lockeford will be donating a % of their daily sales to our nonprofit organization. Stay tuned for the date. Support local!

Recently, we reimbursed the District for the purchase of landscape shrubs and a refreshing of the community center. More to come as their new Park plans take shape.

Also,the Friends were honored by a generous donor as a benefactor of a personal trust. If this is a way you might want to consider tax advantages and support a charity of your choice, speak with your personal financial or tax advisor.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park and interested community,

Our next board meeting is CANCELLED for April 2. There being no urgent business, we decided to hold off on meeting in person until May.

The Friends will be able to support the freshening-up of the Community Center furniture this spring and may assist with the property signage thanks to your continued support. Shade umbrellas are slated for replacement as summer approaches. Other larger projects will wait until the District's major Park upgrades are complete.

The Friends has been named in a trust fund donation. We cannot be more grateful for this generosity. If this is an avenue you would like to use for tax deferred donations, speak with your personal financial advisor or tax consultant. We are a 501c3 organization.

An experienced member has volunteered to fill the webmaster position. Thank you! As the webpage is updated, please contact her with your suggestions and feedback.

Hi Friends of the Lockeford Memorial Park and interested community,

Our next board meeting is on THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2026 at 6 PM at the Lockeford Community Center, 19258 N Jack Tone Rd. The meeting is open to ALL members.

Not the Friends funds, but to let you know, the LCSD has grant funds left from the restroom installation that will be used for enhancements of the playground, shade structure/gazebo and picnic area. We have been in discussion with the managers at LCSD about how the Friends can best support them at the Community Center and Park as they move forward. Recently, we covered the cost of a replacement black oak which did not make it through the winter wind storms. Other projects are in the works as the spring weather gets closer.

We are hopeful the webmaster position may be filled very soon. A volunteer is meeting with our current admin. to find out more about our specific needs.
